Food Diary

So, I'm a total newbie a this tracking my food. I've got it set to look at Calories, Carbs, Fats, Protein, Sugar and Sodium.
How do you decide if you had a "good" day eating. If all your numbers are green? Just calories? What if I'm read in a couple and green in the rest?
Just wondering what has worked for others so I have a point of reference.
Thanks!

I try to go over in fiber and protein; I look at those 2 numbers as my minimum. For fats, carbs and cals, I look at the number as a maximum and try to stay under. This is what works for me; I know there are a lot of different approaches that work for different people. My diary is open, just disregard the last couple of weeks (I've been bad for the holidays).0

If your settings are all set properly...whatever your needs may be...then by the end of the day you should be all green...I tend to go over my protein..almost always in the red...but it's no biggie for me, since sometimes i'm cutting for a competition and others i'm not...so I know where my number should be otherwise, I try to keep it in the green! lol0

I hardly ever go over my carbs (I track them but it isn't my downfall), almost always go over on protein and sodium and I also track my sugar. I have been really bad lately so, like most people, am back in the saddle for the new year. I had lost 30, and have gained 12 -13 back. (bleh)
I eat extra salt due to a low BP so I track it to make sure I AM eating it...not eliminating it.
I try to stay under in calories but try to eat half to 75% of my exercise calories back. Everyone has their theory on if you should or should not...I do that, it is what works for me.0 -
For me a good day is when I'm within a 10+/- of each calories, carbs, protein, and fat and my food sources are nutrient dense (not "junk"). Today (1/2/12) I consider a good day, even though I'm in the red on everything.0

I always go in the red on protein and I don't consider it bad, I personally don't think the number is high enough on MFP. I track fibre and calcium too and am happy if I go over on those. I do like to see green carbs, fat, calories in my diary but a good or bad day for me is more than just the numbers it is about my choices too. If I go over on sodium one day, I can try to drink more water but if it is a one off because I ate out I don't worry as much as I do if I constantly don't get enough calcium. Sugar is a funny number for me I tend to break it down into natural and processed sugar in my mind - I'm more concerned with the process stuff. As time goes by I am sure you will learn what to look for to ensure you are meeting your goals, you can do some research just remeber that everybody is different!0
