I am going out with my mom to have Indian Food. I have absolutely no idea the nutrition info on anything there. I know the common sense stuff like don't eat things that are breaded, etc. Anything I have ever had that's been Indian is always in a sauce. If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them! I have eaten there in the past during the lunch buffett. But don't know what the dishes were called and it was when I wasn't really worried about keeping the eating under control.

Thanks for your help.

  • If you like chicken I'd stick to tikka or tandoori (cooked in a clay oven - not fried - and no sauce) with salad and raita (yoghurt with cucumber). The rice isn't usually fried either, and if you feel like going for a bread - I'd recommend chappati rather than naan as it's smaller and easier to control portion size.

Enjoy - my mouth is watering just thinking about it!

I would look for some type of bean salad and the best bread is probably roti (whole wheat naan). You could put the bean salad on some greens and do a salad and then have some tandoori or lamb. I think most of their veggie dishes have a bunch of ghee (clarified butter) so very high in calories also stay away from the potatoes. Good luck, I don't trust myself to even go to an Indian restaurant at the moment :)
