WWOOF anyone?

Alright, MFP, do any of you have any experience with the WWOOF program (Here is the USA link: http://www.wwoofusa.org/ )

I'm considering doing this (within the US to begin with, and later when travel is more feasible, possibly abroad). I guess you can do a stint as short as two days, and up to an entire season. I think I may just do a weekend to check it out, and perhaps consider doing a longer stay in the future.

Has anyone done this? What is your experience? Any tips or recommendations when selecting a farm?

I:heart: live on an organic farm and ranch. I don't have to go anywhere!

I don't have experience but sounds heavenly. Every year, my family spends a weekend with Full Belly Farm, the farm we get our weekly CSA from, for their Hoes Down Festival. It's my favorite weekend of the year.

Very cool! One OF for you to check out: Angelic Organics, about an hour NW of Chicago. I did not work the farm, but visited on subscriber appreciation day and received a weekly box, so I can vouch that the people and the place are fantastic. I'd also look at Kinnikinnick Farm, a bit closer to the WI border. Let me know what you plan so I can enjoy it vicariously. ; )
