I am starting the program and wondering about modifying it slightly and not exactly following what is recommened... so was wondering which dvd's you find to be a good workout for cardio, which for strength, which are good combos, which ones do you hate and dread? what is the fit tes and is it necessary to do this? or just go into the first dvd?

In my opinion they are all a good combonation of a little bit of everything! I love all of them, they are all very intense workouts. I beleive the fit test is necessary at least the first couple of times. It tells your body exactly how far you can push yourself before actually starting the program. Good luck!0

the other thing is time... i dont' have a lot of it . maybe 45 minutes max to grab a workout each day. i know the level 2 ones are longer... so i want to maximize my time too.0

the fit test is a really good introduction to all the key moves. when i first started insanity, playing around with it mostly, i did the fit test a few times a week until i really got into it.
for the first phase of workouts, i love plyo cardio circuiti also enjoyed pure cardio. didn't enjoy the cardio recovery so much...
for the second phase, i am totally addicted to max interval circuit because it is so HARD.
i found the plyo workouts really helped build strength and define my legs wonderfully. also, i worked yoga into the routine because my muscles were very very tight, especially during the second month.
insanity is tough as nails, but really enjoyable overall. keep trying and you'll get it! btw, if you follow the schedule mostly as reccommended, you'll see the best results.0 -
I have completed the series, do the fit test. It helps to give you a base start point. If you're just starting to work out INSANITY will be difficult. Be strong it will get better, you will get stronger.
Follow the calander it rotates the body parts to give you the breaks you need. Cardio Plyo and Strength is my favoret disk and the hardest.
If you need any more help or have any questions send it to me. I hope you enjoy.
REMEMBER YOU ONLY GET OUT WHAT YOU PUT IN! YOU CAN DO IT!0 -
Also when you are done Insanity try Asylum. I just completed it and it is crazyy hard and pushes your body to the extreme.
have fun0 -
oh i am not a beginner at working out. i have done almost all of jillian michaels dvd and do treadmill intervals a lot. i would say i am at an intermediate level. i will take your advice and do the fit test... month 1 i think i can handle just fine, nothing is over 40 minutes. i'm just feeling a little anxious that i won't have the time for month 20
