I was hoping to start a thread of ideas on things to do instead of snacking, for all the boredom eaters out there
1) 25 sit ups
2) a quick walk around the block
3) paint your nails
4) take a bath

I knit...Chew Dessert Delights gum like crazy... Sometimes I fix myself 1C of Silk Almond milk(35cal) with Ideal sweetener and sugar free flavored syrup(the kind you usually put in coffee) and sip on that. I like it cold, but sometimes I heat it up.

A low cal winter treat is 1/2 cup skim milk,1/2 tablespoon cocoa powder,and a splenda. Top up with water and microwave for 2 minutes stirring halfway. -You've got yourself 60 cal rich hot chocolate. Plus it takes up time to get everything together and make it and then to cool down to drink. Its sure to kill at least half an hour!0

Lolamako, you just drink that without coffee? Do you have a major sweet tooth? I'm not trying to be rude, but I've never heard of someone drinking such a sweet concoction as a snack.0

Drink a glass of water and wait a few minutes to see if you are really hungry or just thirsty.
Or just go on the internet. All of a sudden you have been there for 30-minutes and still no snack!0 -
I get online and play games. I keep water beside me and if I want something I take a drink of that. An hour goes by and I forget all about the snacking.0

I have a drink. Most of the time I'm thirsty and not hungry.
I used to have a smoke but I gave that up in November so can't do that anymore.
If I want to snack because I am board I read. When I was still smoking, if I was reading and felt the urge for a smoke I would say to myself "End of the chapter." Before I knew it, four chapters later I still hadn't had one. (When I sit down to read a book I usually don't put it down until I have finished it.)
I am hoping I have the same result with food.0 -

I drink water. I try to keep mints close by. Something about peppermint is soothing.0

SoulRose, I use unsweetend Almond milk, so with the added "no calorie" stuff, it ends up tasting like Vanilla almond milk... Just less calories.0

I noticed this weekend that my trigger for snacking comes during the t.v. commercials.
So I found a seek a word puzzle book and did those during the commercials instead... worked like a charm!
I think I will stroll down to the dollar store and get some different ones to do so I don't get bored.0 -

Hm! I've noticed (when not-on-a-diet!!) that there are some activities where I can't eat during them, and after a long stint I realize I haven't had anything to eat for hours.
* Painting (honestly, you canNOT eat while painting!)
* Drawing (don't want to get cheeto dust on your work of art!!)
* sexy stuff (hehh)
* playing guitar
Basically anything really fun that makes you use your hands. Even video games are hard to snack while playing.0
