Have you frozen Greek yogurt?

I love Greek yogurt, and it's on sale for SUPER cheap this week. Anyone know if I can freeze it so that I can stock up? Does it stay the same once thawed? I buy the plain kind, if it matters. Thanks all!

Someone here advised freezing it with chopped apples and honey--make it into healthier froyo. I tried it. Froze it for 1/2 hour. I thought it tasted bad, personally.

    From Chobani's FAQs page:
Yes, frozen Chobani (or “FroCho” as we like to call it) can be frozen and stored for up to three months. While frozen, the live and active cultures present in Chobani become dormant. But once thawed, either in the refrigerator or by your body heat when eaten, they become live and active again.

FroCho will have a slightly different texture, whether eaten frozen or thawed, but makes for a refreshing treat.

Thanks!! They were sold out, go figure. I'll try again and let you know how it turns out.
  • I like to freeze yogurt and eat it while it's still mostly frozen. It tastes just like ice cream.
