Im from Perth in Western Australia, & have decided to make my first new years resolution ever! I have around 40 kilos (88pounds) to lose & it seems like an impossible task.... but I have been putting it off for too long... & now IS the time :0)
Hopefully I will find some good friends to share the experiance with & help support each other...
Not sure how this all works yet, but Im determined to make it work.

  • Feel free to add me....

I am from North Carolina in the Eastern US. I am 37 and started a couple of years ago at more than 225 lbs. (I say more than because I know that I lost a little before I ever weighed.) I spent a year and a half losing about 68 lbs and everything was great. I lost track when life got a little harder (father ill and passing away) and with all the stress, I gained about 20 lbs.

I started MFP for support and a little extra push in the right direction.

    Hey,

    welcome to MFP!
I started with 40 kgs to lose, and I am down 20 now. It seems a really overwhelming number, but if you cut it into small goals, it's less scaring. Make it 2 or 5 kgs at the time, and then move on to the next portion: you'll have much more success and motivation.
And, another trick to succeed is: make small changes, don't try to turn your complete life upside down. Switch one thing, get used to it and then only change the next thing. It's one step after the other, don't try to do all at once, it's just too much to cope with.

I wish you loads of courage, strength and determination! :-)
