Ok one of my main goals before I turn 30 was to be able to run 5K. I turn 30 on the 25th of March. Next week I will be starting the C25K app. I have said several times I am gonna start it but then chicken out. I need a motivation buddy. Someone who is wanting to do it too and is not afraid to kick my *kitten* *virtually* when I dig my heels in. I am determined to do this I just need a lil spirit to help me. Who's in? Send a friend request with the MSG C25K *kitten* kicker. Hopefully there is at least one reply lol.

I'm up on the challenge of 5km by 30, any extra would be a bonus. I've found insanity is a great stamina booster and I'm going to kick that off again tomorrow. I've done it for a while before but holidays / plans have come up and I haven't been able to complete the full two months so being able to finish the program would be great. I'm planning on running a couple of times a week (hopefully) so I can see how I progress! I'll see if I can map out a 5km route so that I can judge where I'm at.

How about you? What's you attack?

Monkeymin, the C25K is a great program. Stick with it and you will do fine!

captawesome, if you're not sure of a 5k route near you, try looking at http://www.mapmyrun.com which can help you find a route near you that someone has already worked out or set up one that you want to try out with directions and all. I believe they also have something on there to help you find running partners if you need.

    Thanks. I start next week.
  • This is perfect! I also just downloaded the C25K app and really want to get it started. I have always wanted to be able to run...you know...any real distance and I think this is the perfect goal. I'll send you the friend request ASAP. I think I'll probably start next week? I need to work out my scheduling and my route.

That sounds great, thanks a heap for that!

I just looked into the c25k program and it looks like something I might be able to add in on top of my insanity, although perhaps only 2 times per week. Great looking program though!
