I bought a $6 non-digital scale today b/c I'm mad at my digital. The non-digi has me weighing 3 lbs less. Which should I believe? I weighed myself under the same conditions. Also, if my digi battery is dying, could it give false numbers?

Bah. i hate digital scales. I did the same thing actually. Went for the dial one instead because my digi would give me all sorts of messed up numbers. I even changed the batteries and that didn't help. I'm just sticking with my dial one unless I somehow get a bunch of money to buy an expensive digital one.

All i know is I had a cheapo non-digital scale and it was soooo off! On several occasions i weighed before and after using the restroom (weird, i know) and the silly thing had me weighing 1-2lbs more AFTER! Plus if you step on it a few times in a row and stand on different parts of the scale i could be + or - up to 5lbs!!! Any way I got a better one (i think i only spent ~$25) and I love it! It does body fat % (not sure how accurate that is...but its interesting!

Point is - i'm not sure if your digital scale is good or not, but the cheap non-digital ones have NOT been very reliable for me in the past!

    Good luck! :flowerforyou:

I have a supposedly high-tech Weight Watchers digital scale and I can have an up to 2 lb difference if I weigh in over and over. Never know what to pick. I usually go with the highest.

I have had two digital scales most recently. I think the first one was from a company called Healthy Lifestyle or something like that and I got so frustrated with it being all over the place every time I stepped on it. So I got a WW scale and at first it was the exact same number each time. However, if I move it to like one foot any direction on the floor, it can give me different readings. I wonder if i have some kind of bathroom gravity anomaly  . Still, I'll get on it about 3 times and see if I get any repeating numbers or ones that are really close and pick one of those. Not the best, but I don't know what else to do since I also worry with those dial scales that they will "bounce" the number too high or low when it turns fast like it does...and I also need to know the decimal points of the weight loss such as .4 or .7

my scale depending if i'm facing north or south (i'm being honest) sometimes gives a different reading in the morning, but if i jump on at night both directions give me the same reading. WHATDAHELLLL!

Well, another reason I was questioning my non-digi is because my grandma's non-digi had me at less than my digi says also. I don't know what to think.
