rice substitutes

Any suggestions for a substitution for rice in stews or gumbos??

  I wish I knew too! Where I'm from, rice is a must have at most meals.

  Try grated cauliflower! Sounds funny at first, but it's sooooo good!

  quinoa or couscous.

  I'm finding a few things. Cabbage, and cauliflower are the two that keep coming up. I guess i'll give each a try and see what happens.
