Salt intake

I was wondering how much salt does everyone consume in a day. I have to consume double the government daily allowance guide due to my adrenal problems which is a tumour as my blood pressure drops so much and I know it's nasty to say I sweat so much during adrenaline attacks so I have been told to increase it dramatically.
I was wondering if this increase your weight and will it slow down your weight loss?

For me I try to stay around 1100-1500 mg a day. Anything above for me, I retain water and am bloated.

Naturally occurring salts in my foods & spices for me. Not sure how much that adds up to, but I don't mind that it retains water - since I take creatine too, this is just my own personal benefit.

You definitely don't need to worry too much about the portion of salt you take - if your body needs/can handle it, by all means, take as much until you're hearts content.

Gah, I love salt. On everything. My boyfriend is always yelling at me. For my weight (321), MFP suggests 2,550. But I've no idea if that's good, bad, middling. I'm not a doctor. Wish I could provide a better answer for you. Do you think your doctor could give you a more accurate number. I know you can go into MFP's setting and set your own numbers for certain things so you can track your special need for sodium.

You should cold turkey salt! You would lose so much more and feel somuch better! Honestly it makes a world of difference! I LOVED salt too! My fienace wudl say "want some food with that salt?" Now I dont salt anything and use low sodium everything! I get my salt from foods. Its hard trust me! BUT now when I eat things that have salt all I taste is salt! YUCK! Its crazy how not salting foods for awhile, how you taste the salt already there better and when it is salted how awful it is!
