:noway: I'm not really sure what happened.. I was doing so well loosing my weight. But the day that I hit my first goal seemed to be the day my body stopped. I've been watching what I eat and exercising like I've been doing but the scale is trying to creep up. This is frustrating... any advice?????

Tell us more about what you're doing...how many calories, are you exercising, etc....

My weight loss stalled when I was netting under 1200 - increased to 1300-1400 and I've been doing better....I try to NEVER go below 1200 now.
  • Chrissy - I have the same issue with netting under 1200 but I'm not hungry enough to eat more. Any thoughts on what I shoud do? I'm eating a bit over 1200 and exercising. What's a good way to increase my calorie intake but not feel full?

i eat 1200-1300 calories a day. I also do about 30 minutes on my elliptical and we go on walks for an hour in the evening (slow pace). usually my number read that i take in 1300 and burn 500 a day.

Net calories are what eat after all your energy, including exercise, is consumed. For example, if you want to net 1200,then you must eat 1700 calories, subtract 500 exercise cals, then you'll have a net 1200 cals. If you eat only 1200/day and burn 500, then your net is only 700 cals for the day. That is way too low for your body and over time, this can actaully slow your metabolism, and cause a weight gain. You can use the tools here to determine what you should eat to lose wieght (cause a calorie deficit). Good luck!

WOW! I think I have just figured out what my problem has been in months and years past while trying to lose weight! I can't believe it was never clear until this moment. I just filled out my food thing (I'm new) and realized that I need to NET 1200 cals, not take in 1200 cals and burn half. My body has been starving. No wonder I've found it hard to lose weight.

I would also recommend trying different work outs. Your body gets used to the same thing and wont progress after a certain point,, so maybe get a work out video to do a couple days a week and then the elliptical and walking a couple times a week.
