    Well, that depends! lol

I ask myself these questions and it totally helps me decide:

Did I do this activity (cleaning, mowing, etc) regularly before I joined MFP and began trying to lose weight?
If the answer is yes, then I don't log it. It was part of my normal activity and lifestyle before joining MFP. It didn't help me lose weight then, I can't count it now. If the answer is no, then I log it.

    2nd question:
Is this a routine activity or once in a great while? For example, vaccuuming vs. scrubbing windows. Vaccuuming is routine, I don't log it. But scrubbing windows is a once a year or so event, so its loggable.

I dont cause I just add a "workout"! Im sure I burn cals doing the daily things like cleaning and checking the mail, but my effort is really to try to do a purposefull work out that I nornally wouldnt do!

However, I think its fin that the peopl who do log it do! Good for them! We are all here trying to do the same thing and thats get healthier. and, we are all at different stages!

Only when I venture into my sons room, I usually get a good 90 minute workout when the day comes

If I had to put "extra" effort in, then yes, definitely.
    Cleaning for company- yes
Wiping up the kitchen at the end of the night- No
Vacuuming one room- no (I used to include it, but it is no longer "extra effort")
Vacuuming the whole house including the stairs- Yes
    Washing dishes- No
    Washing walls-- yes

Yes. On a related note, I also log the calories from cinnamon and pepper.

I'm a housewife and consider housecleaning my physical labor. My house is my gym! I've tried setting my level to lightly active and live within those calories, and setting it to sedentary and giving myself credit for cleaning. It's more motivating to me to do it the second way. Experiment and you'll come up with a good solution!
