Hi I am starting over hopefully for the last time

Hi everyone, my name is Kellie. I have been "dieting' for a year now. I had great progress last spring then due to medical complications I had a set back. I am 49 years old and my goal is to lose 50 to 60 pounds so I can be in the healthy range for a lung transplant.
I began the P.I.N.K. diet today. I eat 4 ounces of protein twice a day and all the vegetables I want. I drink 1 ounce of water for every pound of 100. So I am drinking 96 ounces of water a day. I have done away with coffee in exchange for green tea, and got rid of sugar in place of liquid Stevia. I drink a protein drink in the morning with coconut milk and a scoop of protein powder and 8-10 frozen strawberries. I'll keep you updated on how this goes. This is the first part of the diet or the reset as it's called. I'll be on this for 14 days and then begin to slowly add a few simple plant based carbs like whole grains and brown rice. I will weigh in daily but only post once a week my weight loss.

Welcome! You sound like you are on the right track- you have the right mindset and are actively working toward your goals!
Keep it up! You will see that your diet will probably very strict in this reset phase, but after you add in some healthy grains, your diet will be more balanced and more doable!

Good luck! I too am starting over again and hopefully for the last time. I'm not on a specific diet. I'm only counting calories. I tried Weight Watchers and wasn't happy with my weight loss. I lost 10 pounds over a 5 month period. I think I was eating more on it than I am normally used to. MFP has me set at 1330 calories. In order for this to be permanent, I am eating the 1300 calories Monday thru Friday and not counting calories on weekends. I have to get a break sometime. On weekends, I plan to treat myself to a nice dinner out.

Cynlee, I did Weight Watchers for a year. I had pretty good success then lost interest and gained most of it back. I am hoping this time to do better.
I have a disadvantage because at this point I am not allowed to exercise, so my caloric intake needs to be pretty small.
