Question about bacon

Hi all,
So, I really enjoy bacon, but don't eat it often, for obvious reasons. However, I was wondering- if I were to strip the fat off the meat before I cook it, how can I figure out how much calories and fat that is removing? Any ideas?
Thanks, Lindsay

Center cut bacon is only 50-60 calories per 2 slice serving, regular bacon not that much higher...... good tasty protein, but seriously if you wanted just the cured meat with less fat, why go through the work of trimming the bacon, find a good quality smoked ham steak and cook that up instead?0 -

Amen to this ---^ I see no obvious reasons for not eating bacon.
Bacon = food of the gods What would life be without it?!?0 -

Well, bacon is relatively high fat and calories (and sodium, which trimming the fat won't necessarily cut). I was just curious of how much the calories and fat would go down if I did strip it, for entering it into my log, and if it would make a big enough difference to even go to the trouble.0 -
This is NOT a green light to eat bacon, but why not switch to turkey bacon?0

Turkey bacon is all I have to say barely any fat way less calories and taste so much better cause FAT is gross!!!!0

I buy back bacon medallions (i.e. the fat already trimmed off) and log them under "Asda - Extra Lean Smoked Bacon"
Edit: I'm in the UK so not sure how/if food labels differ0 -

that would be a personal opinion regaurding fat....
a certain level of dietary fat is required for common health .3 grams per lb of lean body mass is a good place to start.... In my opinion, bacon fat is delicious.....0
