Looking for a bit of support for a fun-run

Can I actually commit to a 5km fun-run to raise money for 1 or 2 charities. Despite never having actually ran before?
My main plan is to do the run and try and raise sponsorship for 2 charities.
1) Great North Air Ambulance: - receive no government help, relys on fundraising & volunteers to keep it flying, covers the area of Cumbria, Northumberland and North Lancashire.....That's a fair-few national parks, peaks, fells, moutains, lakes etc not to mention the country back-roads.
2) Cystinuria Research: - Basically chronic and persistant kidney stones. Ordinary kidney stones are small, rounded, calcium-based, detectable on an x-ray and can be broken down by ultra-sound waves. Cystinuric kidney stones are Cystine-based, and the exact opposite. Large, brittle, sharp, hard to detect on x-rays and need surgical intervention to remove them....only for them to form months later.
Both of these charities are very close to my heart. The first because of Bill Barker, the policeman killed in the Cumbrian floods of 2009. The sheer bravery of that man has caused a huge response for fundraising for the GNAA, and I hope to help continue it. The second because it affects my brother-in-law, and seeing how there is little research going on with it at the moment. I thought I would raise public awareness (no offence to anyone here, but I think there's enough people supporting the fight against cancer for it to do without little ol' me)
I started MFP seriously Early October and managed to lose 36lb total and get my fitness back up to a level where I can easily walk 5km, or even 10km with no repercussions. But it's a fun-run, and I feel obligated on the "run" part. I know it's not compulsary, but I just feel like I should run the 5km, not walk it, and I know I wouldn't be able to.....which would let people down.
and I'm tired of being the person who lets people down.
so yeah, I guess I'm just after a bit of support. If you wish to donate, I'll be making a justgiving page within the next couple o'weeks. If you want to sponsor me, then send me a message, ain't going to spam it on here.

When the doc told me i had them i laughed it off thinking it was no big thing... 2 years later and its really is not a laughing matter!0
