since when are boiled eggs only 17 calories?? Am I missing something here? I thought one egg was 70 calories?...I have recently been eating hard boiled egg whites whenever I'm hungry between meals, and they're only 17 calories...0

Greek yogurt - like to have for snacks & sometimes breakfast
Eggs & egg whites (obviously)
Pistachios - love these on my salads
flat leaf spinach - for salads
onions & mushrooms - use in multiple dishes every day!
sparkling water (flavored) from walmart -- it's my way of avoiding soda *but I only have one glass a day*
silk unsweetened almond milk -- only used in smoothies, but only 35 calories a cup - hello?

I would eliminate the deli meat. It's extremely high in sodium plus other unhealthy additives. Avoid all lunch and deli meats at all costs. Also consider trying Almond Milk. It has zero sugars and is very healthy (get the original). Also on my own must-have list is organic low or no fat sour cream and cottage cheese. I also buy 80 percent dark chocolate and mix one small piece in my morning shake. It's very good for the heart and blood pressure.
its not THAT high in sodium. Its not like im eating a lb a day. More like half a lb over a week. Its really low fat also. So i like it. It goes good in scrambled eggs..

-Other: Fiber One Bars (Only 90 calories each!), pickles, sometimes crackers, oatmeal
-Drinks: Water, Sobe LifeWater (which have no calories, sugar, carbs! they taste great!)
I don't eat as much as I should, but I do eat healthy! I have pretty bland taste. BTW, if you have never tried a frozen banana or frozen grapes.. PLEASE do! They are absolutely delicious! Just as great as ice cream.. maybe.0 -

I do that too!! Instead of eating ice cream, I'll throw a banana in the freezer and wait for it to get cold and a lil harder. It's also great if you mash it up and stir in a lil honey. Yummmm.0 -

I am concerned about sodium, also. Sam's Club has a brand called Castlewood Reserve - the Herb Roasted Turkey Breast is 58% lower in sodium than most other seasoned turkey breast. It still has enough - 10% of daily recommendation for 2 ounces. But it tastes great. I love the chocolate idea, too.0 -

It depends on the brand and the type of deli meat you buy. I get Sara Lee lower sodium turkey breast to put on my salad every day for lunch. Boar's Head is also much lower in sodium and their turkey breast is delicious!
Generally this is what I get regularly:
Lettuce- red leaf, green leaf or romaine
Onions
Dressing (currently Kens light raspberry walnut dressing)
Free range chicken breasts (prefer Whole Foods if at all possible)
Seafood- fish or shrimp usually
Unsweetened frozen mixed fruit (from Costco)
Bananas
Yogurt
Potatoes
Eggs
Oranges or apples for snacks
Skim milk
Coffee
Green beans, broccoli, spaghetti squash or some other fresh veggies that might sound good at the time
Chocolate of some sort- usually 3 musketeers mini bars for a dessert
No sugar added Breyers vanilla ice cream
Hershey's syrup

ive never tried Ezekiel bread, how is it? anyone know?
I LOVE Ezekiel Bread. It's not cheap (like $4.50 or $5 a loaf?), but it's preservative free (almost impossible to find with breads) and SOOO hearty. You eat a sandwich made with Ezekiel bread and you're fueled up for hours.

For me its spring mix lettuce(including spinach) but I swap around for regular iceberg and romaine often so I don't get bored. I also buy broccoli and carrots frequently as well as radishes, green onions, bell peppers and cucumbers(almost every trip) and tomatoes. Avocados when there is a good sale. Otherwise I pretty much go by season and sales. My local chain farmers market has double ad Wednesdays where they honor both last week and the new weeks ad that is when I go most. I should have gone today but passed on the outing as I didn't feel too good.
I get the leanest beef I can for the cheapest(only because I'm living with an omni, my brother) I prefer 93-97% but will get the others for a savings(scored 85% for less than $2/lb which is good for this area) and chicken breast skinless and boneless. Fortunate the Kroger store we have here(Frys) has their brand at a reasonable price often. Soy and almond milk is a constant as are eggs. Once every few months I buy a big tub of oatmeal it last at least that long typically.pickles are good! i like pickled peperoncini too.

Me too on the pickles and pepperchinis. I could go through both like crazy but I don't get them often since they add a lot of cost to the budget.0 -
I don't eat meat, so I always need a lot of fish to get up my protein levels.
I've always just stuck with 'safe options' like tuna and salmon, but one on my new years resolutions is to try more things!
I had some sea bass the other day, which was amazing, so basically I trying to have one fish per week I haven't tried before:')
I eat a lot of salad and veggies, absolutely love celery, beetroot and pomegranates.

well, among all of the usuals everyone's listing (tons of veggies, fruits, various versiosn of proteins, yogurt/cheese/dairy) I always MUST get:
-laughing cow light swiss wedges
-whole wheat thomas bagel thins (combine the both for a 145 calorie yummy snack or quickie breakfast)
-pistachio kernels (no shell pistachios)
-almonds
-hormel pre-cooked meats(beef roast au jus, pork roast, turkey breats in gravy) for an easy dinner here and there (when I can afford the sodium)
-uncle ben's ready rice, brown and wild rice mix (once again, quickie add when I can afford the sodium)
-ziplock steamer bags so that I can make my own frozen veggies from fresh veggies
-Goods to make my morning egg "muffins" (eggs, zucchini, shredded carrot, mushrooms, bell pepper, ham lunchmeat, shredded mozz)
-sugar free or low sugar treats: jello sugar free pudding cups, sugar free jello & lite whipped cream, russell stover sugar free candy (i love the peanut butter crunch, toffee crunch, caramel drops) ,100 cal low sugar cookies (can't remember the name) ... I can't get through the day without a low sugar or sugar free treat!
-TILAPIA. Easiest yummiest fish ever to cook.
-tyson ready grilled pre-cooked chicken and steak strips (easy salad protein)
-bumblebee tuna 6oz packets (easy salad protein)
-various salad dressings (can't stand the same dressing everyday- get bored too easily with it)
-light yogurt not more than 100 cals of some kind to have daily
-sugar free GUM. Must have gum to munch on!
-sparkling flavored seltzer water (like talking rain)0
