Oatmeal question

Okay, I know that I should probably search for this topic, but it's rather hard to weed through looking for my specific question.
Has anyone tried to bake oatmeal in the oven with just water? I'm talking the instant oatmeal packets mostly. It seems like it would taste better to me rather than in the microwave. I like oatmeal but don't want to eat it mushy all the time. I have also cut wheat and dairy out of my diet so those aren't an option. I made some cookies with oatmeal last night that were amazing but still rather high in calories.
I have eaten my oatmeal with pumpkin puree, cinnamon, chocolate chips, fruit.
Just curious to see if anyone has tried baking instant oatmeal in the oven. I'm rather afraid to try it and waste it if it doesn't come out right.
Thanks!

Yeah it was fine. I actually use oatbran instead, but its pretty much the same idea. worked fine, I even mixed some blueberries. Just remember to spray non stick oil of some sort, pain in the butt if you forget -_-0

Try gluten free rolled oats (bob's red mill is good) I think those would be good baked in the oven and lots better for you than instant.0

Hi! This will definitely work but you need to get old-fashioned oats (sold in the big canister, sometimes on the bottom shelf) rather than the instant kind. The nice thing is they're dirt cheap, even more so if you buy store brand!
You can google "healthy baked oatmeal" for a bunch of recipes, and then play around with it on your own, but here are a few to get started... Note that many of these recipes make more than one serving, but the nice part is then you can wrap up the leftovers and have breakfast already prepared for the next couple of days.

Or you can try this "one-minute muffin" using oatmeal, made in the microwave:

Thanks! I bought a big bannister of the regular oats for the cookies I made the other day. So I am good on that. I am going grocery shopping tomorrow so I will pick up a few things.0
