Turkey chili
I remember seeing someone post a recipe for this the other day saying that she was sure everyone had the recipe already but that she'd post it anyway.. I thought I C&Pd it but I didn't and now I can't find it! Anyone happen to see it and remember where it was?

So I stole this recipe from this famous chili recipe website and eliminated some ingredients to cut down fat and sodium (with the exception of the hot sauce...) Veggies I cut are green and red bell peppers, 6 oz of beer, and worcestire sauce (mainly because I didn't have it). You can do the original here "http://www.famouschilirecipes.com/DayBefore.html" if you want. I'm going to edit the recipe from the website to how I make it. I'll also double the ingredients and freeze the remainder to have lunch for like a month or more depending on how many days in a row you want to eat it. It's really good.
• 1 1/2 pounds jenny-o 1% fat ground turkey breast
• olive oil cooking spray
• 2 large onions, chopped
• 4 cloves garlic, minced (I use a garlic presser... is that what it's called?
• 3/4 Teaspoon no-salt sodium substitute
• 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 7 Tablespoons chili powder
• 2 Teaspoons garlic powder
• 1/4 cup of hot pepper sauce (I use franks... the original calls for a teaspoon but I like the kick... It adds a ton of sodium)
• 2 15 to 16oz cans of red kidney beans (drained) (Find the no-salt added kind or rinse well)
• 2 15oz can diced tomatoes (Find the no-salt added kind or rinse well. Original calls for 1 can...)
• 2 to 4 15oz can tomato sauce (The original calls for 1 can, but I like a lot of sauce so it can reduce a little while cooking. You can begin to cook with 1 or 2 cans and add later to see how you like it.)
• 3 Tablespoons ground cumin
• 1/2 to 1 Tablespoon Ground Cayenne
Day Before Chili Recipe Directions
Cook the turkey and olive oil spray until turkey is close to brown in a large pot. In separate pan cook the onion, garlic, salt and pepper until it begins to soften. Break up meat with spatula as you cook. Drain off fat. Combine onions and garlic in to meat and add chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder and hot pepper sauce. Continue to cook on low heat for 3 mins while stirring. After 3 minutes, add the remaining ingredients and gently bring to a boil.
For quick chili
Allow to simmer for 15 minutes then turn off heat and allow to cool. Reheat when ready to eat. Serve with grated cheese and chopped onions or whatever the heck you want I add canned jalapeno's.
The way I cook it.
Once it boils I reduce to a simmer and cover for 3 to 5 hours, with the cover off a little to allow for some reduction. I'll stir every half hour or so. Some people have fancy lids that allow you to not have to leave some of it off, but I don't. I also don't have a crock pot but think stove top works really well.
Once it cooks for a bit you can get a general idea of how it will taste, so test it out and see if you'd like to add anything. I think it's also fine not to add some of the ingredients and add later because you do have some time to play with it.
