losing the will to carry on!

I know it may be just the fact my kids haven't let me have a full night sleep in weeks or the fact I feel like I'm in a constant mess, or the aftermath of Christmas but i feel like I'm losing the will to carry on!
I have lost 70lb since February and gone from being obese to the high end of healthy. I have been overweight since I was a child so this is the smallest I've ever been. I'm not going to lie I like wearing smaller clothes but I just don't feel like I'm doing that well. 70lb is just a number to me I can't visualize how much that is and all I ever hear from people is that clothing sizes are stupid and mean nothing so I can't even use them to judge. Then I have lovely people like my mother in law telling me im just going to put it all back on like she did when she did rosemary conoly and my oh telling me he thinks ive lost enough and that I should stop
I know its going to take a while to get to where I want to be but I'm finding it so hard to stay motivated.
Sorry this is more of a moan than anything else. If your still reading thanks for listening

First off, you haven't slept. I'm an expert in sleep deprivation, and by that I mean, I've been a dummy many times in my life about not getting enough sleep for weeks or months on end and suffered various consequences. Do whatever it takes (short of suffocating the kids, of course) to get enough sleep. That oh so helpful mother in law could always pitch in if necessary. You're not only doing yourself a favor, you're doing them a favor, too. Sleep deprivation makes a person irritable, impatient, unable to think straight, dangerous behind the wheel of a car, absent minded, and did I mention really, really depressed and unmotivated?
Please get some rest! :flowerforyou:0 -
Maybe take a month off of dieting and just rest. Take some time to appreciate what you have accomplished (which is a lot by the way) and give yourself a break. In a couple weeks get back to it. Everyone needs a break sometimes.0

dont listen to negetive jerks like your mother in law! Just because she didn't/couldn't do what you have already done....! The holidays are always so stressful! I'm sure you'll feel better as things quiet down! Good luck, you've already accomplished so much!0

Now hey, Clare... you've lost 70lbs.... that is amazing. Visualise like this. Get a 1lb (454g) jam jar and buy some lard. Fill the jar with lard and keep it in the fridge (ideally in front of the cheese, or chocolate or whatever you go to the fridge to pick at, so you can't pick at it without seeing the jar). That is a pound of fat. you've lost that 70 times over. You are amazing.
Alternatively, go to a farm shop and pick up a 55lb (25kg) sack of potatoes. You used to carry 1 and a half of those around with you everywhere.
Now go to your mother-in-law, stick your tongue out, tighten your lips around your tongue and exhale hard through your mouth. You don't need negative people like her telling you what you can and can't do.
Tiredness affects everything, but all childhood phases pass (only to be replaced by others). You can manage this one without comfort eating.
You stick with it girl!

Losing 70 pds is quite an accomplishment.-you should be very proud of yourself.
Sounds like your mother in law is jealous. Send here up here to MFP so we can adjust her attitude!0 -
Thank you everyone you always know how to put things in perspective. Yes I have gone over my cals today but nowhere near what I probably would have at the beginning of last year!
Thank you again
