My husband and i have been working out and eating healty together since August. I absolutely love the TEAMWORK. we got a ymca membership and love it. the classes are great motivation to stick with it. I've lost 25lbs while he has lost 62lbs. I have had a MFP account all of 2011 but between the thanksgiving/christmas season started using it EVERYday mainly to stay focused and not go overboard with my mom's cooking! It has been so helpful in making decisions between foods or beefing up my exercise when i see i'm going to be over my calories for the day. I have been trying to get my hubby to log on, but he doesn't feel like he needs it (and as you can see from our differences in weight loss he really doesn't) but i thought it'd be nice we had one more thing in common. I also thougth it would cut down on his at work munching.

Should i continue to press him? Is it fair if it's really for me? Did your hubby suggest you'll doing MFP together or what did you say to convience him it would be a good thing?

My husband does not believe in logging his food. He has proven by losing weight his way that he does not need it. Me, on the other side, I really do good when I see how many calories I actually ate up and how much I have left, and it influences what I eat or cook.

I see no reason to "make him" sign up here with me. After all, he is disciplined enough to simply change his diet in a way that benefits him. As long as he has results, it does not really matter to me how he gets there (unless it would be unhealthy).

I wouldn't force it - he's obviously doing ok without it and you pressuring him isn't going to make him want to do it any more. At least that's the way it would work in my house. :)

P.S. I think it's AWESOME that you two are tackling diet and fitness together!! Wish my hubby would at least pay better attention to healthy eating.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. See this is the community I think he's missing. But you are right. He's doing fine on his own, I won't ask him anymore about logging in. ...sn...of he knew all the guys that used mfp he might be more into it. ....ok, ok, I'm going to leave him be!:ohwell:

Let him be. Sounds like the man is far ahead of most of his peers. I think he would benefit from MFP but pushing too far can have a detrimental effect. Not every man is into the logging and work that goes with MFP. Its worth it but it also takes time and dedication.

 UPDATE everyone... He's on!!! I did as you guys said and left him alone about joing and logging his food. He came to me the other day and was like.." He has been seing my progress and realizes that this is what he has been missing." He says, " all this time He's been killing himself with the workouts but eating what he wanted, but i've been working out with him but moderately while watching my intake and having steady progress instead of drastic changes." appearently he has been logging in for a week or so and loves that the iphone app let's him scan in his items. Of course i couldn't be more excited. .except that cuz he's a guy he can have like 2400 calories a day and i've been reduced to 1370 since my weight loss.. but i'm glad he's here! We are both looking to expand our friend lists so add us if you wish (especially the guys.. so he wont feel like the only guy) he's freshlysnipes
