good mornin....
here is the lastest list i found if you aren't on here please add your self. our start weight (sw) is what we weighed when we started this challenge, goal weight (gw) is what we would like to see when this 6 week challenge ends, current weight (cw) is what we are on tuesday weigh in day. progress is what we lost from sw to cw. since we have so many newbies just copy/paste the list and input your stats.

Oddly enough, I went there when I was pregnant. Of course, my husband sucked, so I never got to get in the water or on the beach, no matter how much I told him I wanted a day at "the beach" while stuck in Hell (Fort Leonard Wood), Misery (Missouri). He never found a way to get me near a body of water, when all I wanted to do was swim while pregnant. :sad:

Rhiannon, for your viewing pleasure (although I can see your poor face grimacing as you read this), here is what a typical day's diet looks like for me:
@ Morning coffee (which is 2 c brewed coffee, about 8 tbsp of sugar free International Delight creamer) -- about 180 calories.... I can't live without it, it's my morning jolt of sweetness
@ Smart One Breakfast Sandwich (recent addition, was eating 1/2 a bagel with veggie cream cheese before) -- 240 calories
@ Smart One for lunch.... roughly 300 cals, average
@ Dinner-- depends on what the family is doing. Living with my mom, and my dad's recent dietary changes due to diabetes, it's been a low carb dinner (mostly). However, I dislike it greatly since I don't like any of the meats they eat and I'm not a fan of the veggies they pick. For example, one night they made Purple Peas (???). I ate them, but covered in mustard. Another night it was pintos (I covered with ketchup and hot sauce). Mom makes a lot of chicken.... :sick: ... I smother it in salsa. I know my condiment choices are "okay", calorically speaking.
@ Night time cravings... While no longer "binges", I'm still eating late at night, which is no good. Last night, for example, around 10pm I started craving sweets so I grabbed a chocolate rice cake and topped it with a hefty 2tbsp of crunchy peanut butter (around 350 cals total). Later, I craved cheese (as I often do), so I had a slice of American and a handful of crackers (maybe a good 150 cals). I'm bleeding out calories at night!!!!
Most days, I drink all my water. My fluid regiment is pretty routine --- morning coffee, followed by a Lipton Diet Green Tea, followed by water water water (although I flavor it with Hawaiian punch drink mixes, which have 10 calories per pack but contain aspartame). Dinner I have a diet soda sometimes or more aspartame-containing Kool Aid.
Could the aspartame be my biggest problem? I tried to quit it once. By the end of day 1, I was depressed, seriously depressed. Day 2 I was depressed and moody. I think I finally drank some kool aid and perked up on day 3, vowing not to try that again until I was better prepared.0 -

Yes, Lauryn there has been much cringing and some crying :laugh: Well hon, the accepted wisdom on a fit healthy body suggests the following ratio: 10% genetics (as in, you can't make naturally broad shoulders become narrow or vice versa and many other examples, but not a resignation that if your parents are big so must you be), 10% training and 80% nutrition. EIGHTY PERCENT. There is a great quote about this stuff: "the body doesn't lie. People are able to convince themselves of many things and justify many indiscretions, but the body will always be an accurate reflection of what it is fed." All the training in the world can't compensate for poor nutrition and if there's one battle to pick in this process it's food. And the idea is that if people have had a hand in making it, it's probably crap. So, the pre-made stuff and yes, the aspartame are probably throwing a really big wrench in your goals. Not only that, but I would honestly guess that because of your menu early in the day, you're setting yourself up for the calorie hemorrhage at night. Your body is desperate by that point because it has done more filtering than digesting and is trying to avoid catabolizing itself for proteins. (Can you see my big ol' finger wagging at you yet??? :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: ) So what are some of the things you DO like to eat. Dinner wise or protein wise or just generally.. what are some pure foods that you like? (Which vegetables and fruits, which protein sources, what types of spices...)

Oh honey, be as firm and finger-waggling as you like!! I am so grateful to have you take time to read what I'm writing!!!! I am not taking any of that in a bad tone, I greatly appreciate it!!!!! :flowerforyou: Come down on me as hard as you need... I know what I eat is garbage. My excuse before has been lacking time, but with Friday being my last day of employment, excuses are out the window!!!
I can do scrambled eggs in the morning, as long as they contain other stuff to mask the 'egg taste':laugh: . Salsa or cheese and spices.... I can do fine there. I'm down with bacon. As far as other sources of protein, I like beans (generally, even if I have to cover them in mustard, haha) and tuna and seafood. I like ground turkey (lean) and soy crumbles. I've even had the Boca hot dogs and corndogs and they were doable. Veggie burgers are delightful. I am NOT a fan of hamburger, pork, turkey (whole), or chicken.
I like most "regular" veggies that come in cans (yes, I know store bought canned is terrible).... green beans, potatoes, corn, sweet peas, spinach/greens (with vinegar). I love most every veggie RAW but don't like many cooked (like onions, bell peppers, etc).
I think what I need to do is sit down one day this week and put together a menu I think I could eat, like scrambled eggs for breakfast, and cottage cheese for snack, and a tuna melt for dinner with sweet peas (or whatever it is I come up with), and have you tweak it.
Frankly, I am tired of putting in all this effort to work out 5 days a week and not seeing the end result (138lb Lauryn:bigsmile: ) because I am sabotaging myself with my foods. I also don't like feeling out of control with foods at night because I'm depriving my body all day long.

Howdy do everyone! I'm having a pretty good day today, just feel happy, for no real reason! Did a nice workout, 45 minutes weights, 16 minutes rowing machine (my body wants to quit at 15, because that's what I always do, but I'm trying to work up), and an hour on the bike. I finished my book while on the bike, so the last 20 minutes seemed like FOREVER! I do have videos on my Zune and could have watched something, but just stared at my monitor instead, lol. My weight has been kind of bouncy this week, I've been having some trouble keeping my sodium levels down. Might be the cravings for cottage cheese I've been having (eating a cup once a day, yum), the soy sauce with the homemade sushi the other night (although I did use the "lite version" so less sodium than regular), and I don't know where the other adds up from, but there it is at the end of the day...:laugh: But, I saw a pound loss this morning (two days ago, it was a bigger loss, but well, that sneaky sodium).

Hey Lauryn... I've tried 3 times to get this message out, and 3 times it hasn't worked... Maybe this time? lol
Anyways, some of the foods you've listed are going to add to your sodium levels... My sodium used to be around 1500-2000 and lately it's creeped up over 3000. So, I started looking for the culprits.
Cottage cheese-- I use Morning Glory 2% fat cottage cheese. It has 450 mg per 1/2 cup. A lot of times, I'll eat a full cup, because a) I like it, and b) I have extra calories to use up. This one whammied me big time!
tuna fish-- depending on the brand, starkist has 360 mg for a whole can but chicken of the sea has a whopping 650 mg per can. I'm assuming chunk light in water, by the way. Then you add in the sodium in your mayo (I use light and it has 130 mg per tablespoon). Don't forget the sodium in your bread too!
bread-- I love the Sara Lee 45 and Delightful Whole Wheat with Honey bread. The kids also like it, which is a bonus, I no longer buy white bread at all! But for two slices, it has 210 mg sodium. Not bad, unless you've got another 500 to 600 in your tuna fish that you're putting on it, lol.
Anyways, these were just a few of my eye openers when I started looking at my sodium... Another day, it was the pasta-roni I had made for dinner. Yet another day, it was a can of soup. Once, it was a can of black beans (I have since read lablels better, and the brand I'm buying now has 1/3 less than that first can!).
Anyways, it pays to check the labels as I found out with canned tuna and with the black beans. And I wonder why it takes me two hours to go shopping now :laugh: :laugh:0 -
Robin, I can't make it out of the store in less than an hour either. I read EVERYTHING and compare!!
I know my sodium intake is crappy too. :grumble: I find it hard to balance not eating too many calories while still watching carbs and sugars and sodium. All my little non-calorie drinks have sodium too, and I usually go over my 2500 sodium limit daily. Like I said, my excuse before has been not enough time because of work. With that time freed, I have no more excuses. I can fit in studying for the LSAT *and* learning to eat healthier now.

A big apology for just going rogue style MIA...Life just completely overwhelmed me and I couldnt keep up anymore!
I knew you guys would be here, with another challenge Im so glad you are!
Im not sure on my weight..I have gained I know. I stopped checking it when I stopped checking in with you guys! I still fit in my 10/12's so thats a good thing.
I let the stress of school, motherhood, and life in general get to me and I ate..and ate..and drank good beer and yummy wine! Plus, I havent been good with exercising. I went to the gym maybe 4-5 times out of a month.
I'm ready to start with a clean slate I'll fix my weight tomorrow and put up my stats.... Fill me in ladies through a private message- I dont want to clog up this thread with catching up
Ive missed you guys SO much! You will accept me back wont you?!?! I promise to not go astray again without some notice...

How ever my kid is off work today (due to her car breaking this A.M.) so.....off to the pool I go again. LOL Can' t help my self. Thank God I turn brown after a day. Still not feeling all that great though. I have a Headache and sore throat. Working outside as I do it could be the pollen. I normally don't have any problems with it. But it's very bad this year. Lauryn, that's VERY true what Robin said. Especially in the processed foods.
Robin, good for you for looking into your sodium levels. Cottage cheese is a big one. I found a brand of organic cottage cheese that has only 25mg of sodium per half cup rather than 420mg!! I also found an organic salsa that is very low. Eden Organic doesn't use any salt in their canned products, and on top of that they don't use bisphenol-A inside the cans so you're not eating wicked toxins.

So when I woke up this morning I was so unmotivated and didnt want to workout at all, I just wasnt feeling it. As the day progressed I decided to just do my video and get it over with. Half way through I found an amazing energy that helped me get through it, the whole thing. Thats not all I just got back from a brisk 30 mintue walk. I have no idea where the energy came from Im just glad I got it. I hope that it keeps up and I can feel like this the rest of the week and the rest of my life. Thanks for all the amazing inspiration ladies you have truely helped me!!0

Well My lovely Sixers!!! I wanted to post on the first day of week 2. Is anyone else ALARMED THAT IT IS ALREADY NEAR THE END OF MAY. Now I understand that real time DOES FLY. :laugh: I'm proud of everyone's progress. Congratulations!!! Today I burned 904 cals with the trainer and 106 cal on a 20 min walk w/ Dylan after training. WHEW..... I ate a salad for dinner and I'm pooped. This BETTER pay off. LOL. :happy: I hope everyone is doing well and I'll check back later!!!
Lauryn- I too started eating what was easy but when I wasn't working I got into my fresh veggies and fruit. You will too!! Give yourself time. You can definitely do it!!!
