  • I keep a few of those and others in my car for emergencies only. The rest of the time I try to prepare my own fresh foods. Kind bar is very yummy, but loaded with sugar.

You might check this out if you're into all natural ingredients. I made the fudge babies and - YUM!
  • kind of like zone bars, but try not to eat any, for me that just not satisfying and so I try and grab something better.
  • I just remembered my favorite bar. It's called Power Crunch. They taste like wafer cookies. I haven't had one in a while so I don't have the stats to share, but they are so so good and full of protein. I used to have one for breakfast with a banana most mornings. They come in chocolate, vanilla or peanut butter.

Soy Joy isn't bad since they redid their recipe. I do not recall the stats of them, though.

Clif bars are my favourtie snack for when I get lazy.

However, homemade banana bran muffins are far better than any packed food, IMHO.

I like Raw Revolution bars, but they're not that high in protein. They're good for an on-the-go snack or as a treat though.
  • Think thin, larabar, luna, atkins, & kind are my favorites!! Sooo good!

So i've been playing around a lot with different bars. The Fiber ones seem to taste the best, have lots of fiber, etc. but they lack in protein. So i tried Larabar, Kindbar, Clif. I didn't like the taste of Clif and Larabar was neutral Kindbar seemed to have the best taste. Just wondered others' opinions on these bars. Which ones do you think offer the most bang (like protein, low fat, etc) for the caloric content?
home made ones! Check the archives and there's some great homemade recipes for most all of the ones you mentioned!! Making them at home is far cheaper and you'll be able to put whatever you like in them, really easy recipes too.

I know there's recipes for Larabars, Cliff bars, Luna bars etc.. oh..I do remember seeing a recipe for various Kind bars as well

    Have fun:drinker: .

I really like the Luna bars
  • If you have allergies, just make your own - then you get to choose what goes in it -

Look on Pinterest and just google "make your own protein bars"

I was looking at luna bars and put it back... so much sugar for just 9g of protein.

I eat Quest bars. Almost no sugar, a ton of proteins and fiber, it's win win.

I LOVE Larabars (the blueberry muffin and chocolate chip peanut butter specifically) but I don't buy them anymore because I can't eat just one...
    I get Quest bars

Love Kind bars! Otherwise the banan foster Larabar is decent, but I don't like any of the other Larabar flavors. I'm going on a big road trip this summer and I'll be taking a bunch of Kind bars to eat for breakfast :)

I love Larabars! You really have to be careful about what flavors you get though. I've tried ones that I immediately had to spit out. My favorites are apple pie and Peanut butter cookie.
I've recently been eating the Pure Protein Peanut Butter Chocolate bars when I'm in a hurry and need to grab and go.
  • Quest bars are great. I've had a number of favors and all are delicious. Chocolate chip cookie dough is my favorite. Pop that bad boy in the microwave for 5 seconds.....heaven on earth!!!

those builder bars sound pretty good and sound like the don't have gross sugar alcohols. i may have to give them a try. are they tasty?

For what it's worth, I think the chocolate mint ones are delicious.

I can't remember the name right now but Target sells in their protein bar aisle one called Honey Peanut Pretzel...it was really good and a decent size. I felt satisfied when I needed something.

I like the Kind bars best for taste and ingredients, a few flavors of Luna bars for the taste.

I like Larabars (cherry pie is my favorite) and Kind Bars. The Sam's Club near us has recently (or I think recently anyway) started selling cases of the Kind Bars at a price that comes out to a little over $1 per. Trader Joe's has them for $1.49 or so.

There is a doctor where I live that recommended Standard Process Standardbars.

I do not want to eat this. They should really hire a marketing person. LOL

Quest protein bars are my favorite. Most are 170 calories, 20g carbs, 20g protein, 17g fiber. They're very tasty and leave me very satiated.

ETA: Oops! Just read that you can't handle sugar alcohols!
