Which should I buy?

UgH! Okay so I have a few dollars to spare this week and I want to buy something fitness related. But it's between the kettlebell (comes with fitness video), Pedometer (so I know that I am walking a min of 6000 steps daily), or a low grade Heart Rate Monitor (so I accurately know my calories). Any opinions?

A HRM, and you should go to a gym instead of wasting money on weights.0

Don't buy a cheapo HRM, it won't be worth it. I say Kettlebells. I disagree with the previous comment that it's a "waste of money" to buy weights and to just go to the gym. A lot of people can't afford the gym membership fees, and working out at home is better than nothing at all.0

I bought a cheap kettlebell a couple of months ago, and a couple of weeks later I bought an entry-level heart rate monitor. I think I have only used the kettlebell once since then, but I have used the HRM every day since I got it - it has provided no end of insights for me (e.g. that I was burning WAY more calories in combat than spinning, which I never thought was the case) and so it has enabled me to tailor my exercise regime to be much more effective.
Having said that, I do think kettlebells provide a really great workout, I just need to get myself down to gym classes in kettlebells though rather than doing them myself at home.0 -
You should buy lotto tickets.0

Agreed. If I was rich I could afford a personal trainer.0 -

Agreed. If I could afford a gym membership I would much rather go to the gym. But since money is tight I rather workout at home.0 -
I'd save it and buy a nice HRM in a few weeks.0

If you think a pedometer is good, then get it, otherwise save your money till you can get a good HRm0 -
HRM, best money I ever spent. Polar FT 4, pretty reasonable...0

HRM! It would be so helpful to know how many calories you're burning even if you're not exercising!0

I'd go to Victoria's Secret - they're having their semi-annual sale - and buy some new undies. And maybe a HRM because I'm becoming more and more curious about those.
Good luck with your choice.

Depends on what you mean by low grade HRM. Something like the Polar FT4 or FT7 would be best I think, since you can use that with every workout you do.0

I agree with gsager, I love my polar ft4.0

I have a hrm and love it but I use it alot for the pedometer and since I started walking 10,000 steps a day min i have seen the scale start to move again .....so i say go for the pedometer0

Kettlebells are amazing -- you can get a great workout from them. you can always judge your progress by weight and inches0

I have a cheapo HRM..can't afford an expensive one...I've lost 56 pounds using it. Just remember to push the button alot! i also have dumbells at home and a band that I use almost everyday! I say go for either of those too.0
