Hello everyone,
I have been busting my tush to lose weight since February. I lost a few pounds on my own, but my Dr. started me on 15 mg. Phentermine and Wow did the weight come off quick. I may call it my magic pill, but it wouldn't be working if I weren't also changing my lifestyle & food habits.
I've been obese for as long as I can remember. I starved myself through my teenage years and the smallest I ever got was 170 at age 15, but I was so malnourished my hair was falling out. That was the last time I went diet crazy. I accepted that I had a slow metabolism and ate like a bird for years, I was vegan through most of my 20's.
Now I realize I butchered my metabolism myself. <slaps forehead> I never ate my recommended calories. I was putting my body into fat storing- starvation mode.
So on phen, I have been counting my calories and the one thing that stops my weight loss is not eating enough. So I came here to use the calorie tool and food journal- I think this will be more accurate than my notebook version.
I'm also looking for some new friends- so, Hi!
I am 29 years old (now a meat-eater), I have a beautiful 4 year old daughter and two teenage stepsons. I am married to my best friend and biggest supporter, Bryan. They are my life.
I want to lose 41 more lbs. by September- that would make me an even 250 lbs.
But my long term goal is to be a healthy 150.

  • Hi, It's nice to meet you. I am glad to hear that you have found some needed revelations about what your body needs and how to best treat your body with food and calories. I think so many people fall into that pitfall of staving themselves, without realizing that is what is occurring. Way to go on not giving up and continuing to search for the answers. That's great.

I am a vegetarian, since July of last year, and I am enjoying the changes  I have been married to a wonderful man, Mark, for 5 1/2 yrs, and we have 3 little girls (3 1/2, 2, and 9 months). We have been truly blessed. I had battled my weight for most of my childhood, but joined Weight Watcher's at 15, so I got it mostly under control...that is until having kids. I was able to get most of the weight off after each pregnancy, but I would still have 10 lbs to go each time I got prego, which was accumulating 10 lbs each time I got pregnant (i.e. I had 10 lbs to get back to pre-prego size when I got prego with baby 2, and then another 20 lbs to get back to pre-prego weight when I got prego with baby 3). Once I had my 3rd baby, the weight was coming off very slowly. After 4 months I was still 45 lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight, so I started Power 90 from Beachbody, and lost 30 lbs in 90 days  Now, I'm doing ChaLean Extreme. It's exciting. I became a coach with Beachbody too, since everyone kept asking me what I was doing. I hope to lose another 20 or so lbs in the next couple of months, which would put me at goal size/weight, and less than pre-prego weight. It's very exciting!

I wish you the best with your weight loss and I hope you meet your goal by September! God bless.
