    Eating high-fat foods is not helpful, but excess calories of any kind can increase your waistline and contribute to belly fat. Still, there is no single cause of belly fat.

    Please that quiz was mostly garbage

    It didn't mention wheat and I lost loads off tummy when I dropped wheat.

    Eating too many calories will make your belly and the rest of you fat. Eating at a deficit will cause the reverse to happen. There is no specific food that is good or bad for this.

    Wheat does not cause belly fat unless you have problems digesting it, which are not uncommon. You could have a gluten intollerance, which would make the rules different for you.

    Gluten intolerance, gluten allergy, or celiac disease.

    I'd be very suspicious if someone told me they were allergic to glucose.

    Alcohol does seem to have a particular association with an increased waistline, though. Studies show that alcohol can cause you to feel hungry by affecting hormones that regulate a sense of satiety.

    Its called insulin resistance...and I have it..but I am not diabetic..I have PCOS. Women who have IR have issues with processed carbs..

    Every food prevents belly fat if you eat less of it. Consequently, every food makes you fat if you eat too much of it. Simple.

    Insulin resistance and a glucose "allergy" are not the same. In those that are insulin resistant, the hormone insulin becomes less effective at lowering blood glucose. That does not mean that the glucose you do have, causes an allergy. Because one causes the other does not mean they're the same. Glucose "intolerance" may be seen in those that are diabetic, but that's another can of worms.

    I figured it was a typo bcattoes, but didn't want someone out there thinking about it.

    I must have a wheat intolerance then.. I lost half a stone in the first week wheat free and 16lbs in first month after only losing 3 lbs a month calorie counting (but still including wheat products)

    I used to have special K for breakfast (cos I thought it was healthy) an healthy salad sandwich for lunch and dinner usually involved potatoes, rice or pasta.

    Now I use gluten free bread but restrict to 1-2 times a week as its not only expensive but also higher in calories than regular bread and cut other carbs to compensate eg i mean i don't have oats for breakfast on the day I want toast I'll just have fruit if I'm wanting the toast for lunch and dinner won't have potatoes or rice with it, (most days) but I do have 2 treat meals a week which may include a jacket potato for a change or oven chips.

    This seems to be working for me and lost 32lbs total and now 13" off tummy, 7 " off waist and down from UK size 20 to 14-16. I will stay mainly wheat free for life now, so it doesn't all go back on again.

    Do you have bloating/diarrhea when you eat wheat? If not, it's probably not a wheat/gluten allergy.
