SO..please help me out here, cuz im a bit confused!...PLEASE!
my weight this week went to 130.2, last night went out with my hubby for chinese food (i know lots of sodium, & i didnt hold back as it was my "cheat night") I get on the scale this morning and i'm up 5 pounds! I keep getting told "watch your sodium".."drink more water"... i usually am below my sodium (2300-2400) and water, im usually close to the 70oz/day!..what am i doing wrong? seems like when i DONT go to the gym my weight is better, when i do the workout my weight goes up?!? im a confused mess...but i know there are very smart friends out there, that will share your thoughts... THANKS

Why are you confused? It's water retention. Well. Unless you ate about 20,000 calories yesterday.
Give it a couple of days. You'll go back down.0 -
i know i shouldnt get so consumed over it...but i was just ounces away from my goal weight....and once i seen those "big numbers" on the scale again...all i've thought about is how difficult its been to lose the last few pounds....0

Extra sodium causes water weight, working out causes water weight.
If your eating 2300-2400 in your sodium that's pretty high, work on lowering your sodium and you should see a decrease in the water weight.0 -
what is a "normal" sodium intake/daily? i guess MFP set mine to 2400 and i try to stay under that the best i can... i check sodium in everything now, and try to stay away from it...0

I try to keep mine around 1,500 or less and those days I drink 90 oz of water, on the days I do go over (like today) I'll add another 24oz to help counter it.0

thanks for the idea... think i'll watch mine a bit more.... i have noticed, it doesnt matter what you eat...things are loaded with sodium. even the foods you think dont have much in them!0

Even eating normally, your weight can fluctuate up to a couple pounds a day. Sodium aside.
You'll get to your goal.0
