Gluten free sites????

Anyone know of some sites that have good gluten free recipes? I'm about 95% sure I've developed a gluten/wheat allergy (going to get tested as soon as I figure out which of my 4 doctors needs to do the test >P). I need to try to find some recipes for some basics.....pizza dough, bread for my bread maker, etc.
Any ideas? Where's the best places to get the most selection of gluten free products?
Thanks in advance....:flowerforyou:

I'm just figuring that I am gluten intolerate. I went to my neighborhood store (HEB) yesterday and to my surprise discovered that there was a whole aisle of gluten free products (funny what you don't see when you aren't looking :-). I spent a hour browsing for what would work for me!0

I just started my GF diet and I found www.glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com
She has a section on dieting too which is helpful if you are trying to lose weight as well0 -
My friends GI doc ordered her stuff. I'm guessing they would be more familiar with all the different tests for wheat allergies and celiac. I know with Celiac you don't want to go gluten free before the test because it can mess up the results. I don't know if it's the same with allergies but it's something to ask about.
My son gets tested for Celiac yearly. When I was looking into it I was surprised by how many things have gluten in them.0 -

You are correct. You can't go gluten free prior testing, you need gluten in your system. My dad was just diagnosed a couple of years ago with Celiac. Once you have a diagnosis, then it's ok. Hope that helps.0 -

Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free baking flour is awesome!! It is a one-to-one swap for regular flour WITH the addition of Xanthum gum.
Tinkiyada Brown Rice Pasta is WAAAAAY better than the wheat stuff anyway!!
I was diagnosed 5+ years ago - though it has been a struggle (more emotionally than anything) - it is amazing how much labeling has changed AND how much more is on the market and easily acceptable.
I started out with Bette Hagaman cookbooks and I still use them today!
Feel free to ask questions :-)0 -
I have an severe allergy to wheat (anaphylactic reaction) and have been eating wheat-free since the early 1980s. Over the years, I've tried just about every type of gluten-free food on the market and almost every recipe and alternate flour imaginable. I rely most on Roben Ryberg's cookbook The Gluten-Free Kitchen. I don't really have anything to compare it too, but most people that eat the recipes from her book can't tell the difference from "normal" food.
From a pasta perspective, I think Schar is the best, hands down. Most of the others, even Tinkyada, which some people rave about, are really grainy and mushy when cooked. For breads, Udi's bagels are awesome, though a bit high in calories. I too am able to buy most things at my local grocery store (HEB), and only go to Sprouts or Whole Foods for specialty items (like Food for Life brown rice tortillas).0
