Hi all, I am obsessed with ramen noodles, chicken flavor (thus the 100lbs that I have to lose!) And now I have discovered the shirataki noodles, I would like to try to duplicate the taste. Any idea what is in those flavor packs of ramen noodles chicken flavor? or the cup o noodles? If anyone has any recipes I would so appreciate that. Also Lo mein...the way they make in chinese restaurants...no veggies, just the noodles made with shirataki. Thanks so much

Im not sure about the flavoring but i do have a question about the noodles... i recently came acrossed these noodles myself. I have not tried them yet because i am having a hard time finding them in stores. Im hoping they are going to be in the asian market i am going to this weekend, but anyway what do you think about the taste/texture of these? Are they comparable to a pasta noodle. I am super excited to try them, they are supposed to be 40 cal a serving....and i love pasta. By the way i have also come acrossed soft tortilla shellls that are only 50 cal a serving, trying to find them too, but check out hungry girls supermarket survival it has lots of great ideas for low cal options. really ramen noodles should be able to be duplicated with chicken flavored buion (sp) cubes and salt...mess with the ratios a bit and i bet you could come pretty close0

the noodles are awsome. Just rinse them really well and hold your nose while you do. but after boil and dry them and you won't smell a thing. And they taste just like glass noodles. I love them especially for stir fry. I can't wait to try the tortilla thanks for the tip.0 -
You could try some chicken bouillon packets, preferably the low sodium ones. They're usually by the chicken broth in the supermarket.0

To recreate the salty, chicken-y flavor:
better than bouillon chicken stock base, dried parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper.
I always used to eat ramen with green onions sliced on top, dried seaweed, paprika, and maybe an egg cracked inside. Hope this helps!0
