July of 2010 saw me in New York doing a bicycle tour around Brooklyn/Lower Manhattan. I knew I was heavier than I wanted to be, but being vegetarian and doing kick boxing a few times a week, as well as biking most days, I figured I was in okay shape. The guide snapped a few pictures of me standing on the Brooklyn Bridge on my camera. I looked at them and nearly gasped; was I that chubby?! I deleted the pictures on the spot. Sometime later, I realized how sad it was that I deleted these really cool pictures I might not have again because I didn't like how I looked.

August 1st 2010 I started eating well. No more pizza and a bottle of wine for dinner, no more subs with mayo, cheese, chips and pop for lunch. I stopped drinking like a fish, started reacquainting myself with fruit, and made moksha yoga a 2-3 day per week occurrence. I biked the 14k to and from work each day, slept more and separated from my husband (one of my main reasons for eating was to comfort myself, and drinking the bottle of wine for dinner made me feel less lonely).

Within the first month I dropped from 160 to 145. The next month I was down to 140. By December I w as at 135, and in the New Year, reached a comfortable 130 (a first since I was 18). At 30, I had my best body ever!

I maintained 130 for many months, then got a little lazy. Those carbs and cheeses are just so darn tasty! After coming back from vacation in December at 138, I joined MFP, and have lost 5 of those pounds. I'm aiming for a ft 120-125; we'll see what 2012 holds!

Seems my first attempt wasn't so stellar! Anyone know how to take pics from Facebook to post? I copied the image location and posted here, but it seems that doesn't do it.

    Help would be greatly appreciated!

MotivateMeg, you are fabulous. Thanks for doing that; I'm not so tech savvy at the best of times. SMOKIN' red dress, by the way!
