I know that we focus so much on weight LOSS that we sometimes forget about all the things that we GAIN on this journey which are even more important. I've gained better health, happiness, confidence, strength, self-esteem, a better relationship and so much more.
What is the #1 thing you have gained on this journey?

I was just miserable fat.0 -
I've gained self control, knowledge about portion control, and a gym membership! :-P I've also gained some self confidence, though not as much as I hope to have when I'm at my goal. I think I've also gained quite a bit of support from my "Pals" here on MFP and from my friends in real life.0

This is a great post! I love the optimism!
I've gained alot of confidnce on this journey. Yes, I have my days where I don't feel pretty or I still feel fat, but who doesn't? Its made my life so much more enjoyable - I feel like I can breathe again. I can walk down the beach in a bikini and not have to worry about sucking in my muffin top. I can shake my booty on the dance floor and know people are checking ME out and not checking out my jiggly parts. I can fit into smalls and size 5 jeans, so shopping isn't a chore but a hobby now. I eat to live instead of living to eat which has helped me become more open minded about trying new foods and experimenting with different recipies.
Ultimately, I've gained a healthy lifestyle that has positively influenced my relationships, self esteem, and well being. I can't wait to see what the rest of this life has in store for me!0 -
I've gained something I enjoy doing... When I was younger working out was something I looked forward too. I stopped doing it and got fat. Now I truely enjoy working out again. Not to say there are some days I don't want to do it, but once I'm started I feel great.0

I've gained my life back. When I started 93lbs ago I was in constant pain and spent the majority of my time in bed. Now I am enjoying life again. I have also gained alot of friendships along the way and my health back0

Absolutely! I'm so glad I didn't get rid of all of my smaller clothes. It felt so good being able to fit back into them.0 -
