I drink it almost every day. White tea is also lovely. It helps me get my daily water down and it's loaded with antioxidants - I just don't like plain water at all and I struggle to get my quota. :drinker:

I drink green tea as well, 4-5 cups a day. I also drink peppermint 'tea' as well after lunch and evening meal. There are lots of studies on the benefits of green tea, just google them, but I mainly drink it because I like the taste and it helps me with my water intake for the day.

It doesn't help you get rid of toxins. A load of horse. But it's not "bad" for you. There may be some health benefits to you. But don't take them literally. It may boost your metabolism SLIGHTLY due to caffeine. This does not mean you'll see massive results or you can gorge yourself on food. Yes it is also rich in antioxidants but so are fresh fruit and veg and you should never use green tea as a substitute.

However, if you intend to have it as an additional part of your well balanced diet, you won't be harmed by it. And POSSIBLY MAY reap some benefits.
  • I drink it as often as I can, up to 2 pints a day, but that's rare these days. Nothing to do with the health benefits claimed by people who want to sell you, but because it's tasty, relaxing and fresh.

My favourites are ooloong (slightly bitter), sencha (sweet-ish on its own, very tasty and properly green coloured) and genmacha (nutty flavour coming from roasted rice added for flavour).

Actual benefits from drinking green tea (especially if you drink it without sugar, which can take some getting used to) - sipping a hot beverage calms you down, no stimulants, in fact - smaller amounts of neurotoxins that cut production of stress hormones (this is good for you, only harmful in insane amounts, and you'll have drowned yourself three times by then), it cuts any desire for snacks and sweets due to its interesting flavour combination, and filling yourself with tea will make you fuller and you'll eat less.
  • I love Green tea and blackcurrent, you can find it in Tesco, Asda ect...

My only worry with drinking fruit tea is it staining your teeth....other than that i drink it instead of drinking tea with milk

    Bottoms up!! :drinker:

Woah woah woah! No need to sound so negative...but I do drink green tea about twice a day. I actually love green tea due to my Chinese heritage. But it is loaded with antioxidants, it does help detoxify since ur drinking water, it does boost ur metabolism a bit and it isn't just because of caffeine. Drinking hot drinks in general are good because it raises ur body temperature, and speeds up metabolism, therefore helps digest food. So I like to drink some after a big meal. Either way, its not a miracle drink....its just a good supplement to ur diet. And u should still focus on eating healthy.

Here are some more metabolism enhancing tips! Green tea and hot drinks are both on the list...
