So, I started on November 28th of just changing the way I eat, and I stayed right around 1900 calories a day, because I had my profile as "lightly active" and not sedentary. I believe I am sedentary, after changing it to sedentary that took me down to 1670 calories per day. I have been watching what I eat very close, and since before Christmas I have been staying right around 24, 25, or 26 pounds lost. I always eat either under my calorie goal or just under it.
I started exercising this week, and only went from 24 to 25 pounds lost, then up to 26 then back down to 25. I have been eating 1200-1400 calories per day, and working out on average 40+ minutes a day with 30 day shred, the eliptical and bike. Does anybody know why I am just hovering around the same weight loss and not losing anymore weight? I will admit I weigh myself everyday. I know I shouldn't but it is hard not to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I personally don't see a problem in weighing yourself everyday. My mom does it and I have in the past. You just have to know your weight will show more fluctuations (i personally think many people get discouraged by this and that is why many say to not do it daily) It sucks when you lose a pound and the next day its back (just because of water or something usually) but it still sucks.
Have you don any weightlifting?! Also might I suggest doing some measurements... I have found that about 90% of the time in the past when I'm working out and not losing weight if I measure myself I can see it going down. :-) Good luck! hopefully you get out of this plateau soon!0 -
You need to drink more water ...in the past my best weight loss results are faithfully drinking 8 c. + of plain water everyday and loads of raw veggies, tuna etc. and keep your sodium fairly low..Just a thought for you..keep on working at it and you will find what works for you and then it will be a matter of just doing it. I kinda think your body is in starvation mode cause your skipping breakfast, working out super intense and eating low Cal. I suggest to eat breakfast. :-)0

One week is not enough time to see a difference with the working out.
Also keep in mind that when you first start working out, you tend to retain water in your muscles as they heal which can often cause an initial weight gain.
Stop worrying about the scale. It is the least reliable indicator of results.

Also, you say MFP suggest 1670, yet you are eating under that. Eat to fuel your body, especially if you are working out. Cutting too many calories can cause problems, including slowing your metabolism which will make this harder in the long run.
Are you netting 1200-1400 or is that all you are consuming? If you are only eating 1200-1400 and working out 40+ minutes a day you are likely netting under 1000 calories. Not good.0 -
You said you workout 40 minutes and get 1200-1400 a day but mfp gives you over 1600. You need to eat a little bit more. Also, try to look at the quality of foods you are eating. If you are eating things that have a lot of sodium that can hurt weight loss. Also, if you drink sodas it can cause you to be bloated. Hope this helps.0

Like others have said, you are probably not eating enough. Try to reach your calorie goal that mfp sets for you, including eating back at least some of your exercise calories! hopefully that'll jump start your weight loss again!0

I weigh daily, but don't worry about small changes only large ones. It's fine to do that, but realize as a woman, your weight will vary quite a bit (up to 8-10 lbs) over a month simply from water retention issues associated with your cycle and other things.
I've hit two plateaus, and both were from water retention issues. One lasted over a month, and I dropped almost 10 lbs in one week at the end of it. Just stick to your meal plan and your workouts. If you feel hungry, eat some of your exercise calories back.0 -
it all depends on what you are eating and if you are eating before you exercise. If you eat food with high sodium, you will retain more water and weight will show it. As someone metioned to measure yourself. Sometimes you wont tell that youre losing weight by the scale but by the measurement. Measure yourself in these locations: Bust (at the widest point not under the bust), 1" above the belly button, waist at the belly button, hips at the widest areas, right arm at the widest, left arm at the widest, right thigh at the widest and finally the left thigh at the widest.

I also started in november, have lost 3 kilos n been exercising cardio n weights, I did not see anything coming off scale wise but have dropped lots of cms. I would say in this the tape measure is a girls best friend as I have seen more movement there than the scales. Keeps me motivated0
