    well my starting goal is 265 and by valentimes day wou;d like to be at 235 or less by valentimes day

    Sweetie, I want to cheer you on but 30lbs in 5 weeks is a BIG loss. Doing it a healthy way you should lose about 2 lbs a week. It is great to have big end goals but your little goals along the way should be set with good expectation of reaching them, not something that is going to harm your body. Good luck to you!

    I have to agree here. I had already lost a great deal when coming to MFP and then started MFP at 280. I am currently at 254.8 and my Vday goal is 240, which is a bit OVER the two pound per week goal. If I lose more than that--then that is great and meant to be, BUT I want my goals to be attainable so I do not fall of the wagon AND I want my loss to be healthy. I applaud this other poster for their desire to lose and being here and giving it the college try...and if they are down to 250 by Vday I will jump up and down for them. Anything more is bonus.

    Hi, Count me in!! I will use Valentines Day as my 1st stepping stone. Starting a weight contest at work on Monday Jan 9th. The goal is to lose 20lbs in 12 weeks. So for this time line my goal is to lose 8lbs by Valentines day.

    Starting weight: 202lbs.
    By Feb 14th: 194
