Hi, I recently joined the gym 1 week ago..I try to go 5 times a week. After having 2 kids I carry most of my weight on my mid-section. I was wondering if it would be better for me to do more Cardio at the gym than circuit training? Just trying to do this the right way but I am kind of confused about my regular workout that I usually do...Any tips or suggestions? Thank you

Cardio does almost all of it's energy use (whether from fat or carbs, depends on state your system is in at the time and the intensity) during the workout only, whereas circuit training (strength) will raise metabolism for hours up to 24 depending on intensity, mostly fat, after the workout.
So if you are limited on time, and need the most bang for the buck, circuit training 3 times a week, 2 sessions of cardio, one cardio workout as sprint intervals. Have your rest day after the sprints, another after a hard cardio.0 -

This is the routine my wife and I follow and we find it very effective.0
