Eat before or after?

Is it a good idea to eat before or after a workout? If I wait until after then I get weak half way through, but if I eat before then my stomach hurts half way through. Any advice??

eat a light snack before with a mix of carbs and protein (ex... a slice of bread and half a can of tuna (110 calories)) Then after your workout have your meal or atleast thats what i do but i like to snack constantly My day looks like this
Breakfast
Midmorning snack (pre workout)
Lunch (post workout)
Snack
Dinner
I love eating all day... it makes me feel like I am eating more even though i am not0 -
try eating at least an hour before workouts so your food can be settled and u can have enough energy to endure your workout. I hope this help.0

I have always tried to avoid eating prior to workouts because I thought it wouldn't help. I am going to try eating something a half hour before I work out tomorrow. Good advice, thanks

I work out 2 hours after I've woken (I have 2 young kids & have to deal with them first!) and I will have a piece of toast and a hard boiled egg or some peanut butter before I work out - but I wait an hour to work out after I've eaten. I then eat after working out once I've showered, etc... so at least an hour later. I work out for 45 minutes.0

I read somewhere to eat 2 hours before you workout. If you are unable to eat 2 hours prior then eat 1 tbs of peanut butter 20 minutes before. Usually if I am hungry afterwards which is most of the time I will have a slim fast with 1 scoop of french vanilla powder and 8 oz. of water. Hope that helps ya.0

new York times reported a study.... I think abou 6 months ago... that exercising before eating produced more effective workouts. I have been trying to work out first thing in the morning bf breakfast and I think I notice improved strength and effectiveness.0
