Hi all,
it's been a rough week. I was diagnosed monday with an hdl of 344. I am 49 yr female. everyone says I'm too thin but my cholesterol is sky high. I LOVE milk and that really seems to be my downfall. I would if I could afford it, drink a gallon a day, no seriously. I know I need to not drink so much but sometimes when my stomache is bugging me I'll just drink some milk and I'll feel better. I've tried soy milk. OMG it couldn't taste worse, but it does. I almost threw up when I tasted the stuff, so SOY is OUT for me. I guess I will look at the cholesterol in 1% and see if I can shave some there. Also now I am not allowed eggs, I don't know what I am going to eat. I am so scared and it seems to be making me WORRY about food now instead of enjoying what I'm eating.

    Hey Sweet,
We all worried about changing our lifestyle at the beginning, and it's tough, it means sacrifice some of the things that we truly enjoy. But most of us here also know that we just make those things the rewards when we do well, and portion size, portion size, portion size.

Most of us have found that it isn't so bad. We' re all here for different reasons, weight, health or whatever. Just know that you have lots of support here, and we'll help you through the toughest part, what ever that is for you.

Good luck and great health to you. :drinker:

    Neverbeenskinney,
Thanks for your words of encouragement. It just seemsa like EVERYTHING out there to eat is a NO NO for me. I worry that I am now going to have a panic attack when I go to the grocery store to buy myself food. I don't want to worry over every single morsel of food I put in my mouth. It's making me Grumpy about eating... New eating disorder lol

I don't know how you like your eggs, but if you like them scrambled you can always do 1 whole egg w/2 additional egg whites, this will equal 2 whole eggs and I can't even tell the difference any more, add some veggies and 1 oz of low fat cheese and you have a yummy omlette.

Truly...it's not so bad, it just takes time to get use to the changes and figure out what you can have and what you can't, where you need to substitute certain ingredients. And if you need suggestions or have questions, come back to the board and ask.
