Giving Blood

Well here's something I didn't know before today... your body burns about 650 calories to replace the pint of blood typically donated in one session (http://www.mayoclinic.org/donate-blood-jax/know.html).
Considering that you can't workout after you give blood (just for the day), this is fantastic news. I was going to be over my calories by about 400 without the workout, 600 once I ate the snack they give you after donating. But guess what? Now I'm not over at all. I guess I'll be getting my gold star today afterall.

 Thats great that you donate! I always try to get people to give blood...its such a simple thing to do, and it helps save someones life. Im also donating blood today at work. I work second shift, so I did get to work out, but that is interesting about the calories you burn after donating, I never would have guessed.
Have a good day!0 -
