On November 18th I wrote down my inches for the first time in a LONG time. I took my inches again on DEC 22nd (a little over a month later) and had lost 5 INCHES!! Today, I wrote down my inches again and have lost another 3 INCHES!!
I am so excited because I have lost 8 IN (20.3 cm) in a little over a month and a half!!
I am so glad that I started watching my inches bc I have lost all these inches but have only lost 4lbs ((bc I have been replacing my fat weight with muscle weight))
I know this is not a HUGE victory based off the other stories on here but it was something that made me feel really good so I wanted to share && show the importance of watching INCHES (CM) and not just weight.

I guess my one real beef here is that the focus is too much on the scale and not body fat based on measurements.
It's easy, free and right here: http://www.scientificpsychic.com/fitness/diet.html
I track this just as much as weight, and for good reason.0 -
that is amazing and I think over 20 cm is a lot congratulations0

Awesome well done! I measured and got a body fat percentage measurement too so I'm hoping to check these things monthly0

I think this is a huge victory. I just did my measurements after awhile. Normally I don't do them but since my weight stayed the same from last week I was curious. Turns out I lost an inch off my hips, i'll take that over a 2 pound weight loss any day.
Keep up the good work!0 -
Totally agree - inches are so important - I have to remember this myself! Especially with more exercise it does not show on scale but shows on the belly and thighs for me with inches!0

Nice job! I will have to try this.0

I really needed to read this because last week I was almost ready to quit. I'm glad I'm not the only one losing inches and the scale isn't moving.
In either case we are losing something. GREAT JOB!!!! :bigsmile:0 -
I rely more on the measurements than on the scale. Actually, I bought a scale only two weeks ago, and never had one before in the house (I'm now 39 years old) but I'm usually in no hurry to weight myself, since I know that I'm actually building muscles, and muscles weights more than fat. The only reason I'm doing it, it's because I have to enter an amount in the "Check-in" section. But weight is really secondary for me. The measurements tell the real story with what's going on with your body.0

Right on! I had a long talk with my trainer this morning because I was so upset about gaining 3 pounds. He told me that we just started strength training, so it is expected to gain at first. He also told me to pay attention to measurements (which I had forgotten about since I started!). So I did what he told me to and low and behold, I had LOST inches! What a relief. So happy to see that other people are learning this lesson, too! :-)0 -

It is a huge victory, because it shows that weight isn't everything, it is the measuring that proves a smaller size.

Thats actually AWESOME....GREAT JOB0

Congratulations on the inches you have lost.
Like others have mentioned we can not soley rely on the scale to gauge our results. Last week someone asked me how much weight I had lost and when I told them , they did not believe me. They told me it looks like I lost alot more. I tried to explain that I have lost more inches then actual pounds. However the person did not understand the concept.0 -
I checked out the website for measurements and I loved the info! Thanks for posting! Although I haven't lost pounds this month I have lost 6% body fat and gained 13lbs of muscle!0
