Yikes- why oh why do I do this... Through out the week I am SO good with what I eat and make sure I stay under my calories but then the weekend gets here and WHAM- it all goes to "hell in a handbasket"! Really! Why can not be as good on weekends as I am on week days? Any suggestions out there for this? Its not like I get up and say well forget it I just don't care what I eat today- but that is what happens. Its not like I gordge out or anything like that but I DON'T MAKE THE best choices on what food I eat! I go for the "not so good" food that is taunting me when I get hungry! I need help from those that don't sabbotage their weekends and pointers on how NOT TO FROM NOW ON! I know I HAVE TO get into the right frame of mind and JUST NOT DO IT! Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Weekends for me are horrible too. Partly because we're always SO BUSY, partly because hubby is home (and he tends to mess with my 'schedule'), partly because we only drink on weekends so a few beers add up...
I haven't figured out a solution yet, just wanted to know you're not alone!0 -
i find the weekends difficult too, especially as my other half eats what he wants when he wants and i dont ban things from the house. It depends what sort of choices u r making. If its chocolate that you cant refuse then try putting a curly whirly (105 cals) in the freezer it takes longer to eat so makes me think ive had a bigger intake of chocolate than i actually have. If its savory you crave the special kay mini breaks are so tastey (love the caramel ones me!) and there 90 cals a bag. Im all about the substituting!! its not depriving urself so that you do crave that certain food or feel the need to eat it. Another idea is do more exercise on the weekends to allow urself the extra calories for a treat at the weekend. Hope this helps xx0

I had a bad weekend to....food choice wise! Just get back on track.0

I can't control my portions when it comes to chocolate or peanut butter so I simply stopped buying them. If it's not in your house, you can't eat it. Simple.0

Weekends are bad for snacking! When i'm at home, all I see are cupboards of food!
BUT!! There are solutions! Try and get out of the house and do something - don't go shopping and buy bad foods (DEFINITELY don't go shopping while you are hungry, you are waayyyy more likely to buy snacks etc!)
Everyone says 'just get back on track' to me - but I still feel bad and yeah I can get back on track, but it doesn't give me back the weekend of terrible food. So - go into the weekend thinking like its another weekday. Don't make excuses for the rubbish that is being eaten - and just try as hard as you can.
There are many people in the same boat - just be one of the ones that gets out of it! :-)

thats why its good to prepare yourself during the days you know you can be the weakest..i keep myself damn busy on the weekends when im in weight loss mode.. i always continue to prepare my food too and always take food and plenty of water in my car so i dont stop somewhere to order them one dollar burger specials every one has.. if i dont sign up for working as a nurse then i make sure i go to the gym both saturday and sunday.. and i plan things to do so im not sitting around eating .. i totally understand your pain with the weekends!!0

My doctor actually told me that being bad one day out of the week, won't always sabotage your weight loss. It will shock your body, and may actually be good for you, but it's when your cheat days run together is when the problems start. When you want something salty, I eat popcorn with the butter spray with 0 calories and sea salt. Or I even just munch on ice, and it gives me something to chew on/do with my hands, but it's 0 calories, and its cold and satisfying0

Well, I have the same problem, too. I like the suggestions. For my family, we have made a deal. We can go out to dinner on the weekend IF we go on a family hike for a minimum if 3 hours. That keeps me on my diet most of the day and I don't feel bad ordering a nice dinner that night...plus all the hard work inspires me to not go too crazy with the menu!0

Since you know the weekends are the hardest, try to plan ahead. Make menus for the weekend and try to stick with them. My hubby is onboard with me and is also losing weight. We don't think of this as "dieting" but just making more healthy choices. You don't want your weekends to destroy what you have worked so hard to accomplish during the week. Try to find lower calorie alternatives for the things you love.0

Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. Trouble is we have 2 growing boys with large appetites and not so healthy ones I may add. They are VERY VERY picky, they get that from their dad, and if I want them to eat anything there has to be some kind of junk in the house for them to snack on. I tend to go for that junk on weekends...ugh.... but getting back into the right frame of mind and really gonna try NOT TO this weekend! I plan to have my menu of foods figured out for Saturday, Friday night, and for Sunday, Saturday night and sticking to what i have down.0
