I'm in an odd mood this morning, so I figured I'd start a thread for some support. When I look at how far I've come (almost 20 lbs down), I'm very proud of myself. This is the first time in my life since I started gaining weight that I've made this this far and lasted this long on a fitness/get healthy/exercise "program." But when I think about how long it's taken me (almost 10 months), I admit, I'm a little bummed. :frown: It seems like every time I'm cruising the site lately, I see blog after post after thread about people who've pulled off much more in much less time. I really AM happy for everyone who is getting healthier, and I know I can't compare myself to anyone but my old self/ I know it's not a race, and I'm sure they've been working harder and been more dedicated than I have, but for some reason it's kind of bumming me out today.
Realistically I lost it all from April-Aug 2011 and am just now getting back into exercising well, so it's my own fault. I decided to take a maintenance break in Aug and it lasted longer than I intended. In those 4 months (Sept-Dec) I manged to only put back on 4 of the 20 (and that was all between Thanksgiving and Christmas LOL). I know I should count that as a victory in and of itself.
Instead of being bummed about it, I want to renew my motivation to workout more and keep plugging, and hopefully the next 20 (or 35 :P) won't take almost a year to pull off (although if I'm at/around my goal weight by this Christmas 2012, I'll still be thrilled!)
I guess I just want to hear that I'm not the only one going at this at a snail's pace and that someone else thinks its OK if it takes me nearly 2 years to get to around where I'd like to be. :blushing:

What ever it takes. Everyone does it in their own way and its great you are getting back to it. :flowerforyou:0

Of course! You have done great!!
For me, I've gained a lot. You have maintained for awhile and then had the holiday gain. That's pretty darn good in my book! :flowerforyou:0 -
firstly, you are absolutely beautiful! Ok, that being said, I do understand your point of view and it can get discouraging but everyone has a different path. You have to keep your eyes forward and know how far you've come!!0

Temporary moment of weakness - thanks guys!
I DID workout this morning (about all I've accomplished today so far LOL) so I'll just keep plugging away.
I think I'll also put my scale away for a bit, or at the VERY least go back to weighing only once a week (somehow I've been creeping up to weighing every day). I feel better than I did and I keep getting stronger, so I'll focus on how I feel rather than the scale or the number on my clothes tags. :P0
