Hi,
I am new to my fitness pal. I need to get back on track. I am a retired school custodian now for 12 yrs. Maried with a grown daughter and three granddaughters. My husband has 3 grown children with 7 grown grandchildren and between the two of us we have 7 great grandchildren. My goal is to lose and be healthier in 2012.

    I am also new on fitness pal. So far I am loving it! Just my first day today. I've been doing the yo yo dieting for ten years now so I do hope that this works for me. Weight Watcher's is my normal way to go to lose weight and I do lose but alway gain it back. So hope this works. Must stay focus!

    My first day here, saw about 5 references to this site in the past 24 hours. Took it as a sign.

    I ate sparingly today, even at a restaurant! I'm in my 50's, have 44 lbs to lose before I'm remotely satisfied. Lost 10 lbs last year. I like to exercise, hiking, backpacking, etc, but get waylaid quite often.

    Would love a "buddy".

    I am also new to this site. I started on Saturday. I am currently doing Jenny Craig again. I am turning 50 this year and I would love to finally get this weight off. I have tried several diets, WW, Atkins, and etc. I truly believe that I need portion control in order for this to work so that is why I went back to Jenny Craig, plus I have a great counselor. This website is great for helping me track all my food. I weigh in on Saturday. I was also able to get 30 min of exercise in today. It is also nice to have a website to talk with other people trying to diet. I have a lot of weight to lose.

    Why does the weight lifting part not count for exercise, in terms of minutes? Anyone know?

    You have to add strength training under the cardio section for it to count.

    I am not exactly new my friend introduced me to the site. It is a lot easier than most of the other ones. I will be happy to help anyone who wants to add me or message me. I have taken a fitness trainer course and have been here a while. I am always looking for new friends.
