Do NOT give up!

I started here last year after 2 years of feeling sorry for myself. When the doctor advised me I would be on cholesterol medicine for the rest of my life for a level over 300, and gave me the list of side effects of the meds including liver damage (my mom died of liver disease at 54) I decided to get off my *kitten* and do something about it.
I started slowly and worked my way up to a good healthy life. I, like most of you, had started and stopped for years and years.
Get a cold, give up.
Go over on calories, screw it why diet anyway?
Pull a muscle, my bodies way of telling me exercise is bad for you.
Someone called me fat, eat more.
Get my monthly friend and gain 5 pounds, off the diet I go.
So what is different now? I believe I have made this my way of life. It doesn't mean I don't want chocolate cake, it means I either don't eat it or have a small slice. I think my food through just like an alocholic thinks through a drink. From preparation to the next day when I feel like crap mentally and physically.
I injured my leg last week. I cannot do any type of lower body exercise.
Here is my test, I said to myself.
I lowered my calories a bit to make up for my lack of running around the office at warp speed. I decided to do upper body 4 days a week. Today I worked really hard-at home and burned 200 calories and built up some muscle.
So that is my loooooong story! I hope it helps someone to decide today is the day to make it a life choice.
YOU can do this!!
