I started last Jan 2011 andI lost 75lbs by my b-day in Nov which was my goal....However I have been stalled since- I added back more carbs at christmas which I know wasn't good but have got rid of them again......I haven't ate more than 1200 any day. Usually around 800-900 or so- My carbs I been trying to keep around 40/50 now- but the scale still isn't moving.....Any suggestions.....:ohwell:

add more calories to get over your plateau - you have cut your calories and your body is holding onto everything that your'e putting into it.0

I agree. If you do not have atleast 1200 calories a day you will not get all the nutrition value you need and your body kicks into starvation mode. Try more fruits and veggies, but keep up on the 1200 a day. Good luck and great job so far.0

Eat more, then eat more, then eat even more. (min 1200 Net, which is 1200 plus eat back what you burn)0

yeppers on this answer. confuse your body by giving is more (good) calories & fluctuate between 1200 4 days a week & 1400 3 days a week. it's amazing what good food can really do!0 -

Depending on how much you have to lose you shouldn't be under BMR cals. Most people suggest you eat BMR to lose safely and slowly. If you have a lot to lose eating number BMR would be okay. Here is a guide for setting weekly weight loss goals based on how much you have to lose:
If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal, and
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal.0 -
Im a shortie so I still have another 25 more lbs to go0

Eating under 1000 calories is very unhealthy. Your body needs fuel to burn the fat. Eat more and exercise more rigorously.... and eat your exercise calories.0 -

So your goal should be 1lb lose per week. Having too large of a deficit will lead to your body losing a large % of lean muscle along with fat.0 -
Please don't limit your calories to less than 1200. When you eat too few calories your body learns to wring out every single one of them and worse to store them in case of starvation. You are teaching your body to exist on too little. It is a great ability that our bodies had to have back in prehistoric times. Fortunately (or unfortunately for us) we have an ample supply of food now and don't need to conserve every calorie. When you eat so little, you trick your body into thinking it is starving. So, eat at least 1200 calories a day and try to get enough protein and fiber. Eat lots of fruits and veggies (without butter - use buttery cooking spray) and just enough carbs. Carbs drive hunger, but they are necessary for energy and metabolism. Over all, BALANCE is where it's at. I started in February and lost 69.8 pounds by Thanksgiving. However, I was "out of control" between Thanksgiving and New Years. I am struggling to get back the momentum, but I have been staying right about the 67-69 pound level. I know that it will get easier as I get further away from Christmas treats and get back into my routine. It will for you, too. Be strong. Think of all of the nice compliments you have gotten with regard to the new you. Think how your health has improved. I have eliminated my cholesterol meds and cut my B/P med in half. I wish you Godspeed and good health. Make these changes for you and your health.0
