What is the best way to get ready for a hard cardio class? I have cardio kickboxing once a week and I want to be prepared this week (since last week I wasn't, but I pushed through). What should I eat the day of the class? What workouts should I do during the week? Etc. Any insight is appreciated.

You are paying for the class so take advantage of their knowledge. Call and talk to the instructor. They should have all the information you need. Have fun!

Not yet I'm not. He's doing free classes every Thursday evening this month, kind of like trial session w/o obligations. However, I really enjoyed the class last week and am going to continue.

What time of the day is the class? I don't like to have a full tummy when working out, but do like to eat something beforehand. I work out in the early morning hours and need some carbs and protein beforehand to finish my workout strong. English muffice w/pb or hardboiled egg does the trick for me.

For intense cardio, be sure your body has enough energy to get you through the workout. I find it works well to have a meal or snack in the one to two hours before working out time. I would recommend having something with a decent amount of carbs, maybe a banana and some peanut butter, a sandwich, or a piece of fruit and some cheese.

Also remember to stay well hydrated all during the day. And if you can bring water to the class.

If it's a class that starts right in, maybe do 5 minutes of walking or static stretching before it starts to help warm up. (Some classes include warm ups and some don't, so not sure how yours goes.)

Good luck, and hope you enjoy the classes.

Thanks guys! My class is at 7pm. It's a tough class but still a blast.
