ok. So Wii Fit. It's fun, it's cute, it makes me feel just peachy when my avatar expands lol
<b>So who is using Wii Fit? Do you find it is working for excersise? Do you find the cals lost/burned is accurate? <b>
I have a toddler, so it seems to be a great way to get exersise in with him and he loves anything tv or game like.

I love my Wii fit. But to be completely honest I didnt find it burned enough calories or challenged me enough to be my main fitness program.
I much prefer EA sports Active 2 for the Wii....comes with resistance bands, heart rate monitor and leg strap. You can do 3 or 9 week challenges that a virtual trainer sets up for you, or you can do your own thing! You can also set your fitness level between easy, medium and hard.
But I do still enjoy Wii Fit...I like it for the Yoga, and really enjoy the balance games! And any form of exercise is better than none0 -
i LOVED my WiiFit when i first started out and i believed the calories to be very true because i was so inactive before that i felt like a just ran a marathon after.
Now that my experiences and tolerance has gone up i find it kinda lame and not worth the effort to burn 90 cals in 30 mins. i can burn double that (if not triple) just going for a walk.
but it was what got me up off the couch for the first few times. so i am very appreciative of it.
and doesn't it just feel lovely when you step on to the board and it says "ohh' lol kills me every time!0 -
I enjoyed mine (although hated when it called me obese and plumped up my avatar). I found the yoga section to be the best part of it. Not good for cardio, but helps with flexibility and balance (which are two areas of my fitness program that I often ignore).0

I love the yoga. I prefer the EA Sports Active (I didn't have EASA2) for workouts, but when my Wii was still working ( ) I did the Wii Fit yoga several mornings a week.0

I used to, but found the only useful exercise for me was the free-running in place thing....0

I use my HRM when I do it and the calorie burn is way off (on the low end).0

I use by boyfriends' WiiFit to track my weight and to see its trends, plus to try to get my balance to be better, but I've never used it to work out. Pretty much, I use it as a glorified, expensive scale. I agree that the program is cute, and that helps keep me motivated, actually. When the little Wii balance board says "That's overweight!" to me, it doesn't bother me as much because it sounds so nice in its delivery. Ha.
I just bought the Zumba Fitness II game from Amazon a few days ago, though, and am eagerly awaiting it in the mail.0 -
I loved mine..when I used to use it ( lol) gonna try to get back in it. I think its great for beginners..its fun to do w/ the kids...and anything that gets ur butt off the couch and moving is better than nothing!! I always did create ur workout for 30-1 hr and just put in lots of different things to do made it fun and mixed it up a bit. I always loved the obstacle course, me & my kids would compete and see who would win first!0

I no longer exercise with it but I do keep track of my weight with it. Also, it really annoys me when the little voice says "oh" when I stop on the balance board! Grrrrrr0

I have the WiiFit and use it to weigh myself and track my weight, but none of the exercises really give me a good burn so I feel like it's a waste of my time (it is fun, though!). If you're newer to exercise, it can be a decent routine (I used it more often when I was first starting out).
You might be able to try some other exercise videos if you're looking for something more challenging to burn more calories (especially something like tae bo/kick boxing, or dancing), so the little one can jump around with you and it would be fun for you both.0 -

Ha! glad I'm not the only one that gets mad at the little "oh"! I always get so irrationally angry when the Wii Board is trying to call me a fatty. Some day I'll show it by getting in the Normal BMI range!0 -
Over 60 and I have been using the Wii Fit for over a year. Used it more when started but have used it for weighing purposes if nothing else. Sore body parts made me stop doing a lot of it. (bad shoulder, back, etc.) But it was a great tool to keep me on the scale and avoid going up much.0

The Wii Fit Plus is what motivated me to start exercising as it was really fun. A few months ago, I hurt my toe and ankle and have not been able to comfortably exercise on the Wii as I normally would. Instead, I've been using my stationary recumbent bike with great results. I miss the Wii, however, as it not only helped in burning calories, it definitely helped tone, which is something I really need now that I'm nearing my weight goal.0

Lately I have only been using to record my weight, but I did like using for exercise now and then too. I love mixing up the exercises and changing up the routine a bit. Mostly I "Just Dance" and Zumba with the Grandkids, we have a blast!
Ok am I the only one who calls the chicky bad names when she GROANS when I step on? LOL0 -
The only way I burned any amount of decent calories with the Wii Fit was to do the free step for about an hour while really rocking out to some good tunes BUT after doing that for a month or so it didn't really feel like a work out.0

I'm in the lower end of the 'normal BMI' range and its still says "OH!!" when I step on to weigh. LOL So don't get too offended :laugh:0
