Take a look at the foods that contain the sugar then try to swap them out for something with less in it.

For example, if I look at my food today I see that I have also gone over on sugar (I don't normally track sugar) and there are two items I eat for snacks which are good protein and calcium but put my sugar up. I could swap those out for nuts if i wanted to reduce the sugar

Personally I have just been concentrating on keeping my calories at the right level (or roughly there) and not worrying about the breakdown. Later when it becomes harder I may chose to be more vigilant about what I'm getting the calories from and start to make changes

My sugar was 9 over the 26 it recommends.

Look at all the foods that are in your diary look to see what ones have the highest sugars and stop eating those.

(Not the fruit tho. that is good sugar!)

You can also read labels and Google other names for sugar (so you know what you are looking for)

The ingredient list is always from highest to lowest. So if sugar is with in the first 5 or so ingredients that means that it is fairly high in sugar.

I don't track sugar - mainly because any fruit I eat puts me over. Other than that, unless I have a lolly binge, my sugar's usually within the limits recommended. But, say if you usually have 1 sugar in coffee, try to cut it down by half.

I don't normally track sugar, but checked it today out of curiosity. While I am right there (about to go over) I am not concerned...when I look at it, it's from milk and fruit. To me those are healthy foods that I need and enjoy so I don't worry. None of it is "processed" sugars. But if you're trying to reduce it, read lables! (And to each their own...but nearly everyone that I know that has successfully lost weight and maintained it long term reminds me that "a calorie is a calorie" so as long as you're getting the nutrients you need don't focus too much on where they're coming from. Example: my brother-in-law maintains his 5% body fat on a diet of nuts and organic meat. Some think that's an "unhealthy" diet but it works for him, his doctor refers to him as the ideal picture of health.)
