Body Rejecting Foods.....

I was just wondering if anyone has had an issue with their body rejecting certain foods after losing weight. For Example...
I work at Olive Garden, and was training to go from being a host to a Server/To Go Specialist. We had to sample 8 different entrees 2 Appetizers and 1 Dessert. There were 4 people in total. We didn't eat all the food, it was more to try the food. Maybe 1 or 2 bites of each thing. Anyway, Lately when I eat certain fried things or certain pastas and other foods I have been getting SUPER nauseous. It's like my body is rejecting these foods. I havent been eating huge amounts of the food either. I just wanted to know if anyone is experiencing the same things as me.

I know that if I go on really healthy eating and cut out all greasy stuff and fried foods and then have something like a bag of crisps, they taste worse that they have ever done in my life. Really, really greasy and horrible. Funny enough I used to eat tons of the things before.
Perhaps it is the same for the OP except the OP is having a really strong reaction and wanting to puke all the food back up.0 -
I cant eat chinese food anymore unless i fancy feeling ill the next day.
The feeling isnt worth the taste of the food.0 -

Instead of 4 Whoppers, I can only eat 2.0 -
I definitely feel ill if I have something less healthy than my usual, now. It's good that a lot of pleasure is gone from greasy foods.
Equally, I just can't handle salt any more. I worked hard to cut the salt from my diet, and now chips with salt on make me feel ill, and I'm very over-sensitive to added salt in cooking.
I think the salt thing is to do with changing taste buds, the greasy/junk food thing is probably more physical to do with what your body's used to digesting now.0 -
I had this happen with fried dough at the fair one day. About two months after starting on MFP and losing about 10lbs, I had one piece of fried dough. Within an hour of finishing it, I had massive stomach issues (won't go into detail). This happens with me with a lot of fried food now. Like Delicate said, the horrible feeling isn't worth it.0

Last night I splurged and ate fried catfish with the family for my Dad's birthday, I was in pain all night. I was sick to my stomach big time.0

yep with greasy foods...it's like my stomach is screaming at me to knock it off...it's sort of good except when you need to like your situation.0

I never really did very well with fried foods. Now I not only can't eat fried foods but can't eat foods with a lot of fat or I am sick for the rest of the day. I haven't figured out where the tipping point is, though.0

Yes, Happens to me whenever i eat greasy very unhealthy foods. Everytime.0

Both my son and my daughter had had that reaction to certain cheeses - we think it's an allergy, but they arn't allerigic to all cheeses! Weird!:sick:0

Yes, it's your body telling you it's not good for you. I can't eat fried anything anymore or my stomach will be in knots all night long.0

I had Greek and TX roadhouse Saturday for my treat day and was sick not just nauseous but sick for the rest of the day and all day Sunday as well so your not the only one. I have gotten used to not eating out much and or eating much meat. Not on purpose just kind of happened that way.0

Me too. Anything really greasy makes me feel sick to my stomach now. Even looking at it.
I was watching "The Best Bites" the other night and they had a hamburger special. I love hamburgers, but they were showing the world's most obnoxious hamburger grease-pile concoctions being cooked up swimming in grease. Just looking at that hot mess kind of made me gag. 6 months ago I would have had a much different reaction. I would have WANTED the duck-pork burger drenched in melted butter with the saturated bun. Now - Blech!0 -
The first time I lost the weight, I had several spans of months eating very healthy... fruits, veggies, whole grains and lean baked, grilled or sauteed protein... and then I would go out with friends and have a 'cheat' dish, usually pasta or something fried, and I would have the same stomach issues. Felt nauseated and gross and yes, it seemed like my body was rejecting the unhealthiness. I would say the only way to fix this is to either give up the greasy stuff altogether or if you can't bear to give it up completely, add just a bit more into your diet. Budget the calories and have small portions when you indulge but at least your body won't go into shock each time you eat something less than ideal for your health.0

Yep...greasy foods will make my stomach hurt so bad! My body also got that way with pretty much all junk food and eventually meat. I fully believe that our bodies tell us what it needs and doesn't and when the body rejects something it doesn't need it or like it! I haven't had fried food in so long because it gets bad. Sometimes I do "sacrifice the tummy" to eat things that I shouldn't and end up paying for that, so I just avoid them. Oh well, my good health is well worth it!0
-
Yup, me too. As another poster said, it's our body's way of telling us to eat healthy.0

I ate a cheeseburger not long ago, and I thought my stomach was going to explode! I felt so bad I thought I was going to lose it! Greasy foods hate me now, but that's ok--means I won't crave them as much!0
-
Yes, greasy food. Look out for the "McDonald's Mad Dash" (to the bathroom)!!! :sick:0
-
my stomach has been really wack, i think its mostly triggered by stress for me though because my problems started before i got serious about watching what i ate0
-
Definitely! If I eat a something like a piece of pizza now I get an upset stomach and acid reflux. Doesn't really make me want to eat it much, which is a good thing, I guess ;]0

I ate some Chinese food and then all of a sudden my stomach started to cramp up and then i had to go vomit. After that I wasn't able to eat much of anything. On Christmas I went to a family get together and I ate some sauteed shrimp, and cheesy meatballs, and some pigs in a blanket. I was fine up until my stomach cramped and i had to force myself not vomit at my fiances grandmothers house. Only recently I put together I was only sick after greasy foods. So yeah, I have been experiencing a rejection to certain foods and certain pastas. Oven cooked chicken is fine but, fried chicken, or anything slathered in grease hurts my stomach . I guess its time to become a vegetarian again.0
