I have 100% wholegrain rolled oats.

Is it ok just to pour skim milk on the top, add blueberries and maybe some honey and consume?

Will this block me up or expand in my stomach as some people have suggested?

Probably, but why would you? I suspect they taste much better cooked.

WARNING... you may experience exploding... the risk is about as high as a watermelon growing in your stomach from eating the seeds!

    It is absolutely safe

I grind them up and throw them in a protein shake as a meal replacement.... I don't notice any thing different.
  • I have also added them to a protein shake and have experienced no problems.

It's perfectly fine. I eat raw oats, especially as muesli-yum! They taste good lightly toasted and then soaked in milk, too.

I throw a few tablespoons in with my skim milk and frozen mixed fruits to make a yummy milkshake.
  • Yes it's safe. Many people eat a breakfast of Muesli, which is dry oats with fruits and nuts in, milk on top.
