nursing moms

I just filled out my nutrition info to set up my profile, but it doesn't account for calories spent nursing. I exclusively breastfeed. Should I try to increase caloric intake to account for BF'ing? Does anyone know how to do that?

Apparently it is 500cals. I have seen other nursing mums put it into the diary as negative calories. Someone else will hopefully be able to tell you how0

In the food diary of you type in breastfeeding there are entries that take 500 cals off your total for the day. 500 is the basic estimate for calories expended in exclusive breastfeeding though some sources say up to 700.0

HHHAHAHAHA I literally laughed outloud to that...I BF my two sons also. I used to call them my little barracudas0 -
I had found one that adds back extra fat, protein and carbs too, and I was still losing about 1 to 2 lbs a week (when she was still exclusively breastfed) It's hard work making milk!!!
Now that she's 14 months old, I'm probably burning more calories trying to hold her in place! She's really into the gym-nurs-tics!!0 -
Try to find one that also takes out the calcium, fats, etc. too - I didn't realize breastfeeding depleted calcium so bad! I have my entry as an "Older baby/Minimal feedings" and it STILL takes out an insane amount of calcium! I have to deliberately make sure I get enough!0
